I'm thinking about starting to hang

I'm thinking about starting to hang

I have recently come into some free alone time and I am thinking about starting to hang. I have been doing manual PE since last November and I have thought about moving on to some new techniques but never really started because of fear for injury. I haven’t had gains for a while, other then excellent EQ and lasting power. I’m currently sitting at 7.25 BPEL and 5.25 EG and its been like this for about 6-7 months. Basically I had a 2 month break from about March to May and since I started again I haven’t had any measurable gains. I restarted my routine very slowly ensuring that I always have a flaccid hang and good EQ. At this point My routine is fairly simple because I was always worried about loosing EQ but now that doesn’t matter as much. I basically do 5-10 warm wrap, 5 min stretch (1min each direction) 5 min J-stretching and then 200 wet jelqs, with a final 5-10 min warm down. I tried doing this with a 5 days on and 2 days off schedule and I found that I didn’t have flaccid hang but rather shrinkage. So now I am doing the routine mentioned above on Mon, Tue, Thur, Friday and on Wed and Sun I have a 30 min edge. I also do kegels through out the day. I want to gain some flaccid length, erect length, and some base girth, that is why I think that hanging is right for me.

Now my questions are,

Should I start hanging now or wait until my 1 year PE anniversary?
Should I buy a bib hanger or make a home made one? which is good?

I have started to read some information about hanging, but the idea of hanging weights from my dick still makes me very nervous.

Any opinions are welcome

Which gains you had from the manual routine? Your present routine seems pretty low on time, by the way, you should raise work. Also you could try adding fulcrum stretches - ‘V’ and ‘A’ and Memento’ stretches. Edging will do nothing for gains, so you can cut it for sure.

About hanging, you already know that it requires a lot of time; first weeks - sometimes months - on hanging are often spent just learing how to wrap, where exactly attach the hanger etc. etc..

About the kind of hanger, best in my book is the AFB, and it costs virtually nothing. But I have noticed that, once learnt how to properly use it, people tends to be happy with any kind of hangers - so probably the device hasn’t so much relevance.

I didnt measure right but I think I gained about a .5 in length n maybe .25 in girth. I dont mind the time investment because hanging can be done while studying or on computer.

Those are good gains, with the kind of routine you used.

About the multi-tasking point, I don’t think you really can do anything that require your full attention while hanging.

Bib hanger is awesome, but expensive. If I had an extra 100 bucks I would buy one for sure.

As for when to start hanging I really cant say. You have been doing PE for long enough that you should be aware of positive and negative PI’s and should be comfortable enough with your dick to make a judgment call yourself. Just start slow and listen to what your body is telling you. Also, read EVERYTHING there is about hanging here at TP.

Back in Saudi, 1991.I remember seeing a guy in the showers who’s dick looked like a wide egg noodle. I was about 20 and had heard of hanging, I assumed this was the result of such activity, of course I never asked him. Anyway 18 years later and alot of education from TP I now have 7 months of hanging under my belt. I have had zero negative PI’s. [Well ok some minor ones] I think it can be done safely, of course it has the potential to injure. Sounds like to me it would fit for you. Private time is definitely key! I agree with Marinera that it can take months to get it down, but I am able to study and work on the computer just fine. I have a bib starter that’s all I have used besides a shower cap. I wish I had just bought the hardcore Bib but I have made the appropriate mods. It’s been a few weeks since you started this thread milkman, have you started hanging?

Just be warned that it will take a considerable amount of your daily schedule and it is not an easy way for gains.

As for injuries, I think hanging is pretty safe if you do not approach it like an idiot, but all PE involves risk I guess.

An alternative for you might be to take a decondition break and then continue with manual work, which may pay off much better in terms of time and efforts spent doing PE.

I would only consider hanging if you can`t do a manual routine or actually have loads of freetime, deskwork or whatever, and see yourself having it for a long time.

This is me speaking as a Bib hanger. If you get a set-up that requires less effort and maybe even longer sets, like vacuum hanging, it might be easier.

Think it over.

Hey Ethemilkman, I can relate to you, I was very concerned to stay away from injury etc in the beginning. I still made gains at first, but I feel like it was probably just EQ gains and measurements fluctuations.
It could be that you do not stretch with enough force or relax enough while you stretch.
I got used to my PE and gradually started to stretch harder and it worked for me (no big gains, but still some gains, still feeling like a newbie).
So try to stretch harder and then perhaps increase it gradually to 15 min.

That being said, hanging might bee a good fit for you, there you can monitor the exact force with the weights. (Even though I have never hung.)
Good luck.

Since I started this thread I have been consistently doing Mems Rapid Gains routine (6 weeks). Its a good routine but I feel like I am not getting the most out of my stretches because my hands get tired and I lose grip. Plus I have developed a baseball bat effect from doing a year of manual PE. I’m starting to think about hanging again. It will be time to make the switch soon.

Did you reap any gains from Mem`s routine so far?

I have the exact same problem with my hands and it sucks.

I`m surprised that there have not been more talk on this boards about how to deal with fatigue in the hands. Maybe it has been discussed and I`ve missed it. I would look into that.

Manual stretching is much more effective than hanging, even though it may be tough and tiresome.

Many people think they will save so much time hanging, but it simply is not true.

Mem`s routine is 20 minutes of stretching right? It can be done in 30-35 minutes including warmup/warmdown.

With hanging, you would need at least 3X20 minutes daily in order to see results. Ideally more. In addition to the 60 minutes of effective hang time, you need to remember the 10 minutes breaks in between where you ideally should jelq as well. Also, since you are a newbie, you should expect to invest a lot of time just learning to wrap properly, attaching the hanger properly, etc. In other words, the time spent just preparing for hanging, waiting to resume a set, jelqing, etc, far exceeds the time spent effectively stretching in a manual routine.

Then you will need several months of acclimatization before you start reaching weights heavy enough to give results.

Hanging can give great results, but it is not easy work like many people believe.

I may get back into hanging myself someday, but that will be when I have no chance to gain from manual work anymore.

Renholder

I`m an ex-guitar player, carpenter, and bodybuilder, but my hands seem to struggle anyway;)

Renholder is right, hanging is time consuming. If you have an hour and half to devote each day then hanging may work well for you.

I use a Bib. What I have found that works for me is to not remove the hanger at the end of a set but just release the pressure of the hanger enough to let blood flow replenish the color to the glans. Then tighten up again and go another set. Takes about 5 minutes between sets.

I’ve used the vac hanger and its contributed to practically all of my length gains. combined with manual stretching I think hanging really is the holy grail for length. It does require quite a bit of time dedication though. I am currently trying to hang 5 hours a day. But it does work, no doubt about it.

Oh yeah, 5 hours a day will do it.
