I'm about ready to give up on hanging

I’ve been hanging for about six weeks now and I see no signs of progress. I started with three pounds for 20 minutes 2x per day, 5 days per week. Now, I’ve progressed to six pounds for 20 minutes 3x per day, 5 days per week. I feel like I’m getting a good stretch but have not seen one fraction of increase… length or girth. Any thoughts?

If you can only hang for one hour daily or such, your better option would be using a vac-style hanger and do longer sets.

Read what 7incher said. Hopefully, you can be motivated again. I am referring to the thread “At what weight did you experience most gains from hanging?” by carrbc in the hanger forum page 2.

I tried to put the link to that thread here, but when I click at the link, it goes to another thread. Weird.

I, myself, have not gained from hanging after 3 months. But I do not set a time-frame to reach a goal or anything. I set a long term goal and will work towards it slowly. It does not matter how long it takes, but I hope I will achieve my goal. :)

How long do you hang at a time?

I did 20 in the hanger at a time, then 10 minutes out. I would unwrap, massage and light jelq, reheat my water bottle or rice sock, heat my unit, then re-wrap for my next set. So 3 hours/day, 5 days/week, gave me 10 hours of hang time.

Do not use a vac hanger. I repeat do not use a vac hanger. After years of PE the only injuries I have gotten were from vac devices. Stay away.

Not sure what hanger you are using but I didn’t see any gains till I hit 10 to 15 pounds. Try increasing your weight.

Vac hanger worked fine for me, a lot more injuries came to me from using the BIB however they were very minor.

I haven’t gained length hardly at all, even hanging very heavy weight did not do it, and I am not going to sit there for 3 hours a day. Been there, done that, and it was not worth it. Make sure you guys are working or studying or at least doing something entertaining (reading, video games whatever) so it’s not a waste if it does not turn out how you predict.

How much weight were you using with the vac hanger ?

Never got any gains in hanging. What a fucking nightmare dedicating months to get nothing. Like whoever else said, try and do something productive during it. I watched movies :D

As you can see for 2 and a half months there I was consistently doing my hanging every day. More than 10 hours a week and got nothing. There were more months before this too. Some were not so consistent as these.

Why you guys don’t try tunica hanging OTS,RSDT fulcrums ? If BTC isn’t working for you maybe the other angles will work :)

I just had enough at that point since I apparently had plenty of lig potential left. I might come back to it one day though.

Wow, what a depressing post to read! I was thinking that some day I’m going to take the plunge, get Bib’s hanger, and somehow (don’t know how yet!) set aside 10 hours a week to do hanging.

But if there’s a significant chance that it won’t do ANYTHING, well, damn, what a risk. I guess that’s what PE is all about, sacrifices without guarantees. I should be used to that by now, just hard to get my head around (no pun intended!).
