hematoma at the piss hole

I have noticed that I have a dark hematoma blotch just underneath my piss hole. Is this normal to get from hanging? It is also rather dry up there, the skin is, and there is sometimes little droplets of blood in the piss hole after a hanging session.

Sounds like you hung with too much pressure on the glans.

I used to have the same exact thing. What kind of hanger are you using and how far away from the glans are you attaching it?

I am using the BibStarter, and I am about an inch and a half to two inches from the glans. I hang SO now, and that is when it has started. When I hung BTC, I didn’t have this occurrence. But I don’t gain from BTC anymore, and I have noticed improvement from SO.

Ok. Let me know what your TOE settings look like. Also, have you made any adjustments to the hanger since switching to SO?

Ya know, I have never really understood that whole “TOE” gap thing. I just tightened/loosened the screws and bolts to where it was a comfortable enough feeling to me when it was tightened all the way. I think it is showing just about the same amount of thread screw on both bolts, so I guess none is greater than the other. And no, I have not made any adjustments to the hanger when I switched angles. I stay with what works for me, I guess.

Toe is basically the adjustment of the nuts near the bib hinge that determine the opening of the hanger near the glans. Right now it sounds like you’re hanging straight toe but most guys hang toe out. Toe out means that the bottom nut (the nut closer to the glans) is wider than the top nut. See here and here. This is going to take pressure off of the glans, just like Piet suggested.

My advice to you would be to take a few days off from hanging until the hematoma fades, adjust your toe settings and go back at it lightly for a little while until you find your stride.
