Is a 2lb weight to much to start with?

Well it depends if your doing it right or wrong. A good starting weight is 5lbs, but if you feel that it’s too heavy, yea start with 2lbs. Just make sure you read everything, again everything about haning, wrapping and how to build a hanger or were to order one. But you should be really doing the newbie exercises first; but then again, it’s up to you.

Reason I ask is because I’m going to start hanging soon and wanna know which weight to buy from here. I don’t have a lot of money to go in order from 1/2 pound and work my way up to 5lbs.So should I just get the 5lb one? And I am doing the newbie exercises.

First off, you don’t have to buy those expensive weights. Just go to any sports store and buy the cheapest barbell weights you can find. You can probably buy a 2.5 and 5 pound plate for 5 bucks. Then make you own Captn’s Wench for about 15 bucks.

Unless of course you are into designer hanging. :)

The one on that site looks like it would be really comfortable though.

I am not a hanger, but just from my reading around here I don’t think you should use any of that shit. The main reason is that is just won’t grip you properly. Go to the Hangers Forum and do some more research before buying anything.

That’s why I said, read everything about hanging. Alot of guys made there own homemade hanger for a few bucks. Also don’t forget about the wrapping part, that very important too.

Look around at sporting good stores or even walmart I think they still sell 2.5LB weights.
