I was wondering if anyone new of a good hanging schedule. I read bibs post that said he hung for more than 4 hours a day and that he had a 5inch increase. I want to have a dramatic increase as well, I know consistancy is the key to any gains. My question is what specific schedule would be the best? I also pm’ed an experienced hanger who told me he would hang everyday, or at least 10 hours a week. I want to gain an inch in 2-6 months, what should I do?

First, I would do a newb routine, if you have already done this, I would start slow with a low weight 2-3lbs and hang BTC, each set should be no more than 20mins, and should be 3 sets, but start with one set of 10mins per day.

Browse forums for the correct method, there is a lot to hanging, it takes about 1-2 months just to learn how to do it the right way.

You will waste a lot of time with hanging, the first thing is not to be in any rush, you sound like you are a little bit in a hurry. Take things slow hang every day, Search hanging fatigue and learn, read, test, learn , learn, and learn some more, then practice.

It will get longer if you take it slow, injury is the only sure thing to slow gains.

The right path to fail in hanging is to set deadline and growth target. If we all could choose the gains and time we want it, then we should all be monster dick by now.

If you target goals like that, is the easier way to over-train and injury yourself; get familiar with hanging first, learn trick of hanging and remember everyone is different; bib gained most by long hours of hanging but I few of those who failed with long hours and gained mostly for short time. Can you see how complex it is?

The biggest enemy to a hanger is impatience. It will cause you to do stupid stuff like increasing weight when you should be changing angles or adding fulcrums. Don’t be in a hurry. I would tell you to allow a year. Goal setting shouldn’t be part of a hangers expectations. Go about this with diligence and deliberateness. The gains will come.

My favorite is 3 sets in the AM starting as I am eating my first meal, and 3 sets in the PM a few hours away from bed time. 6 sets should be what you aim to achieve a day if you can afford to do more then add them in accordingly even if its just a half set.

While an inch could be possible in 2-6 months it really is if you get outstanding newbie gains and maybe lose some fat pad at the same time. I try to look at 0.50” length per year as realistic with extreme consistency and thought out techniques.
