say for example an individual wants to start hanging and they’ve never done PE before. They start off with something light, say 2.5lb, 3 x 10min sets. He says he’ll try this for a month and if he gets no gains he’ll up the weight to 5lbs. He tries 5lbs in the hope that the extra weight will cause him to gain, but he still doesn’t gain even with 5lbs. Now could it not be possible that during that first month of using 2.5lb that he has caused some dick toughening (or whatever scientific term we use nowadays), so when he does up his weight it has no effect. My point being that if we use too low a weight when we start hanging we could sabotage any future potential for gaining, and it’s just one long dick toughening exercise. How do we decide what weight to start with? What’s the general consensus?

I highly doubt it. However, we have all mastered bro science so I am sure there are others who feel that this might ruin any chances of your penis ever getting longer.

I will say though that the weight of 2.5 lb is probably in the range of the lower end of extenders. I don’t believe that they have any problems.

Now if you don’t have any gains at the end of the month understand that many people have no gains until 10 lbs and above. Especially considering the limited time you are hanging.

When I started with a compression hanger I started at 5 lbs. I slowly increased the amount of sets I was doing and then when I got to 5, 6 sets per day, I started increasing weight at about 1 lb at a time per week. From Oct 23rd to maybe Dec 5th about I went from 5 lbs 3 sets a day to 10 lbs 5 to 6 sets a day.

My sets where 20 minutes long each.

Because of the role of time in hanging, toughening doesn’t happen the same way as with other exercises; you are basically ‘coaxing’ length rather than forcing. But your penis does adapt to higher resistance over time, which is why it’s always best to use the minimum weight you can get results from and increase the time rather than the resistance. Decide how much your maximum available time is, and only increase the weight when you are not getting results at the max time you can spare.

Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.
