Last week I hung 10 lbs for the first time and I reached fatigue in the 3rd set. I took a break of 3 days off and today i have hung 10lbs for 7 sets already and still there is no fatigue. Should I keep weight at 10 lbs or should I increase weight? Another thing I was wondering was whether Bib reached fatigue early on in the day when he was hanging all day or if he didnt reach fatigue towards the end of the day. Or maybe he reached fatigue immediately, this is just something Im interested in. Also another thing im interested in is the riding out the fatigue as long as possilbe the next time i reach it. Would it be healthy to reach reach fatigue every single day for a month?

Sorry pyrsnwb, but you have made a cardinal mistake. By taking 3 days off you have allowed enough time to lapse for healing to take place, hence your need to increase weight is needed. If your schedule is such that you cant hang everyday without fail then you are destined to be pulling box cars to get fatigue in the near future. Your only other recourse is to decondition and start over maybe next month. Many guys make this mistake and end up plateaued and frustrated. While your at the low end of weight it would be better to restart correctly rather then trying to break things down and find yourself in the twenty pound class later. If you deconditioned now you would find fatigue again at an even lower weight. If you need to take extended breaks you need to utilize an ADS in between to prevent toughening.

As far as reaching fatigue every day? Sure, that would be ideal.

Okay I just finished my last set and I hung for a total of a little over four hours today with 10 lbs. Still I did not reach fatigue. :(

So Monty if I completly stop hanging for a month I will be back to where I was before I started hanging? Are you sure that your ligs will go back to there previous strength? And another thing has this ever happened to you? I mean taking a break and getting all out of whack? Another question directed at you Monty, how do you PE weights work when your sitting down? One more question is there no benefit to hanging if you never reach fatigue?

Just keep on hanging you will get the soreness back. But try not to take breaks anymore. I never feel fatigue intill the next morning.

On second thought I do feel the fatigue while I hang. I have taken short breaks in hanging but I can always get the soreness back after a few hanging sessions. I have never hung 6 sets in a day and woke up morning with nothing/ no soreness. If I hang 6 sets in one day the next day if I pull down on my dick it is without question sore as hell. And the next days hanging sets are fatigued through out. Have you hung BTC??

If you are getting in four hours at ten pounds, that is a pretty damned good day. Evidently you have the wrapping and Bib adjustments down and have time for PE, and you’ve already demonstrated that you can reach fatigue with lower weights, all of this is good, not just good, great. Only one thing you did wrong, as Monty already said. You screwed up by breaking down tissue to the point of fatigue then let it heal back up short. Whenever you stress or traumatize penile tissue, it will retract back into the body to heal. The harder you hang the more you will retract. You must NOT let this happen. It takes connective tissue somewhere between 72 hours and 100 hours to completely heal. If you let these tissues completely heal up with a retracted dick you will do two things, one you will make it harder to reach fatigue using the same weight and time on your next session, and two, if you continue to do this over a period of time you may actually lose length, at least flaccid length. I can’t emphasis this enough, in fact I feel so strongly about it I put it in my sig. Never Let it Turtle. Now you will have to work harder to achieve the same results. But this is only a slight set back, and it looks like we’ve caught it in time. I don’t think you need to take a month off, I just think you need to keep extended during your break. In my opinion, and there are those who will disagree with this, the biggest mistake was not taking a three day break, but not keeping the tissue extended while you did.

The ADS is very important when hanging, and I’m not selling anything. I think it is possible to do this with just manual stretches and Fowfers, but the devices help free up your hands a little. However if you do invest in devices, best to invest in the ones developed here, because we know The Craft better than anyone. After doing your heavy length work make sure you use some sort of ADS. Monty’s weights are probably the best thing on the market if you are on your feet. If you spend most of your rest period at a desk you might want to look into devices such as the AutoExtender or AutoADS. Of course the best option is to have both, an ADS you can use while sitting and the weights to slip on when you’re away from your desk running around. If you can’t afford to buy these devices right now(understandable with gas prices) learn to utilize Fowfers. Try to Fowfer as mush as possible between hang sessions and especially during your break. Sleep in a Fowfer, Drive in a Fowfer, watch TV, brows the forum, but always keep those tissues extended between sessions. This is much easier than you think. Do piss pulls and manual stretches as much as possible during your break, especially if you are taking three days between sessions. All of this is my opinion of course, theory not fact, but it is also the opinion of a lot of the vets here. I know Monty agrees on most of this, and he will not plug his product on a public forum other than suggest an ADS of your choice between hang sessions. But I will say, no PEer should be without these little weights. I wear at least one every minute I’m on my feet and I never sit that I’m not sitting on my dick, or pulling on it.

Thanks for you response guys I really appreicate it. Know i have to come up with the right ADS to use while sittin down for like 6 hours straight. Does the one with a theraband work like in the video?

Xenolith,I’ve been meaning to try the cock coil but as yet have not.I am on my feet all day at work,but I am a carpenter so the PE weights aren’t the handiest to have on while climbing all over a building under construction.Plus I had them fall off once on the job.Fortunately no one saw.But I believe that you guys are right about pyrsnwb making a critical mistake in taking the break and allowing the turtle. I try to hang at least two hours a day.I never take days off because after I did the last deconditioning break, I’ d actually lost length.Very discouraging.As the oh so wise BIG GIRTHA says ” never let it turtle”. BG you are my PE hero !

How long was your deconditioning break? I’ve heard it’s common to lose some gains during a decon break but upon starting back you will gain it all back fairly quickly and then gain more like a newb. Did the gains return?
