Hanging Frustration

Hanging Frustration

I decided to try hanging again after several failed endeavors and ran into the same problem. I wrapped according to all the instructions I have read and used a Bib hanger. I am able to hang about 14 lbs with relative comfort. The problem is, not matter what methods I use to wrap, and no matter how tight I make the hanger, the whole contraption still slides forward to my glans corona where all the weight gets borne. I might get a good stretch, but after three days of one 15 minute session each, the top of my glans gets pretty numb. Then I have to wait a few weeks to get sensation back. And I end up giving up on hanging for another 6 months. It’s frustrating because I know that hanging is how I can get the best gains. Any suggestions folks?

14 lbs.?! No wonder you’re going numb. Start with less weight. Your ligs may be able to handle 14 lbs., but the softer tissues (nerves, blood vessels, etc.) aren’t conditioned for it. I’d drop it down to 5 lbs. or so for now.

Here are a few things that might help with the sliding.

Also, make sure your hanger is adjusted correctly. The bottom gap should be set at a width to allow the top teeth to almost, but not quite, close tight when the hanger is fully tightened.

Thanks for the advise. The soft tissues are definetley strong enough to handle 14 lbs from manual stretching. The numbness comes from nerve damage, with the hanger pressing on hte back of the glans. In the past this always goes away after a week or two for me. This cannot be avoided by “getting tough” over time with lesser weight. I understand the concept of getting blood into the distal tissues to “create meatiness”. This makes sense, but also conflics with other hanging advise where one is told to squeeze all the blood out of the head before applying the hanger.

If the weight is bearing down on the nerve bundle, you definitely have something wrong(hanger adjustments). Try what Hobby is telling you, it doesn’t matter how “strong” your dick is, having 14 lbs. concentrated on the delicate nerve bundle will cause and is causing you to be in great danger. Bib painstakingly designed the Bib Hanger to NOT do what you are setting it up to do. Tinker with the adjustments, it won’t hurt you. I trust that you have read the product guide a few times. As for me, there was a fine line when it came to the blood in the head issue, most of the time I hung with an almost totally engorged head and upper shaft because I had to.

Thanks Alice. Do you get a lot of capillary breakage in the head from having it engorged. Also, do you have to put the hanger on semi-erect. My reading has told me never to hang erect, so I have always tried to apply the hanger totally flaccid. I know what you are both saying as to having some blood distally. I use that technique when doing a manual stretch so I am not grabbing onto, and putting undo pressure on the head itself.

If you are using a Bib Starter this is not surprising. The 1.5” gripping length not sufficent to grip tunica……the Bib Original has 2.5” gripping length which grips tunica better without overtightening IMO.

You certainly will, if it is not conditioned. It actually took a bit to get everything worked out for me, it didn’t happen in a week. Strange thing is, if I let up any in my hanging, the spots would appear more prominent. I was hanging 5-6 hours a day for 7 days a week, that makes everything different, much lower weights.

You can have some blood in the CC’s without the head being full. Squeeze more blood out of the head than the shaft itself.

Original BIB.

Corpus Grande-

Some suggestions:

Each set - start with light weight and add to it as the the set progresses. I find I need to make adjustments (tighten the BIB) as I add weight. I never hoist my entire working weight initially, even on subsequent sets, I always start light and work up, tightening as needed.

Keep the BIB back from the head. Even if it looks like it’s far enough back when you’re setting up, move it back a smudge more.

Make sure the BIB is tight enough to grip the internals. Towards the end of my sets, I hang heavy, the BIB does not slide at all.

Wrap properly. It’s not uncommon for me to have to drop the weight and re-wrap because the wrap isnt correct and the BIB is not holding fast. Pisses me off but I’ve learned it saves time to redo then to try to work with it like that.

Properly placed, tightened, and wrapped, you should be able to hang with the only discomfort coming from the sheer stretch of hanging, not from the BIB itself.

I thought it was better to hang heavier then work down through your sets… or is this just a preferance for some. (I only use one weight, cause I’ve just started not too long ago.)

Ya, I’ve read that here many times too. Everybody’s different. I do not hang that way, there’s no way I could hoist my usual working weight without working up to it. I start light, and after 10 mins of adding weight, I’m usually at my working weight, sometimes more, up to my max.

Sometimes in my last 1 or 2 sets, I’ll be at max weight and have to drop some off as I hit fatigue, but have yet to get to 20 mins or so. I like to reach total fatigue at 20 mins, so I adjust the weight accordingly.
