Been hanging for awhile now and I was wondering if it is ok to hang low weight for hours at a time. Most of the time I just do 3 sets of 20 minutes with 7.5 pounds. 20 minutes is fine for that because any longer and it starts to hurt a bit. But tonight I dropped it down to just 2.5 pounds and kept it on for about an hour with almost no discomfort at all (just got a bit cold).

So I was thinking, I could just slap on the 2.5 throughout the day for a few hours and then do my 3 sets of a heavier weight. Anyone try this?

Be veeeeery careful that there actually is no discolouration or numbness, and check often as it can sneak up on you. I have used hangers for ADS before, I took it off every hour or so and jelqed for a bit. Just to make sure.

I hung for many hours a day, usually much heavier weights. Started at my max, and reduced weight as needed. Many twenty minute sets.

Just start with your 7.5 lbs, and reduce as needed. Might be 2.5 or 5 or whatever your unit can handle. As time goes on, you will have to raise your max weight.

I never tried this, but I think a few max weight sets, followed by ads use would be about the same.

Please note that BIB mentions long hours, but twenty minute sets. Personally I would be very wary of hanging for longer periods, regardless of weight, as the hanger constricts the shaft. This is not usually so in ADS.

Good points. I will limit myself to twenty minutes reguardless of weight. And I’ll try starting heavy and working down.
