Gains from upper angle hanging

12 o’clock LOT? Does this mean you don’t have tugback at any angle, or do you have it but lose it at 12:00?

This is a little off topic, but concerns sort of a pet project of mine.

I did some downward stretching…maybe 10% of the time.

I still want to say about 75%. I also believe the jelqing helped a lot too.

This means I have it but lose it at 12 o’clock. I should probably specify that I logg 2 hours of actual hangtime per day, six days a week, this is all SO. I follow that with a low erection level Jelq session 3 days a week.

1 o’clock? I didn’t even know there was a 1 o’clock. As far as where I have it before I lose it well it’s strongest at 9 and 7 but constantly evident anywhere from 6 to 11. Honestly I’ve never heard of 1 o’clock. Maybe we are in different time zones. :D

All my routines have contained wet jelqing. I usually jelq a couple hundred a day, except off days.

Hee Hee. LOT refers to loss of tugback. It is the angle at which your tugback goes away. You start high and drop the angle until tugback disappears. If you have strong tugback at 9 and 7, that means you lose tugback below 7. Your LOT is always LOWER than the angle at which you have tugback; it is never higher.

This means your LOT is 7 or below.

The scale is generally accepted to run from 12 to 6, but those limits are arbitrary. The reason I pressed you is that I believe it is impossible to have a LOT of 12, based on the angle of the pubic bone and the positions of the anchor points on the pelvis.

Yeah, you would have to have some very tight suspensory (Binding? Bolting? Welding?) ligaments to have a LOT of 12 o’clock. :)

Sorry guess I misunderstood how LOT was measured. But if my LOT is 7 or below that could explain why SO has been the most effective for me in regards to gaining length. 7 seems kind of low to me I wonder why upper angle hanging wasn’t as effective. What I mean is you’re always supposed to hang in the direction opposite of your LOT. Is that right or am I misinterpret ting that as well?

SO is a funny position because it probably applies tension to both your ligs and your tunica at the same time. On the one hand, this can be less than optimal because you’re not concentrating all the tension from the weight on one structure, which means that you’re sort of squandering the weight.

On the other hand, I believe SO uniquely targets certain outer lig bundles, which may be factors limiting the full expression of your inner penis. Damn, that sounds flakey, but I mean it in the literal sense. “Expression” means to pull out, and “inner penis” refers to those parts of your shaft that ride along the bottom surface of your crotch but are prevented from hanging down and away from your body by the suspensory ligament.

If SO works for you, by all means keep doing it. Also, please pay no attention to the dogma that low LOT means low potential for gains. I’ve studied this in detail and don’t buy that theory.

As for whether it’s better to hang against your LOT, I think a better plan is to hang in the direction that gives you gains. Never stop something that’s working, as long as you’re happy with the results.

Before spouting any more of my opinions, let me ask you, which structures do you think are being stressed when you hang SO? What’s feeling the strain?

When I hung SO for a brief period of time, I felt that it was pulling on my ligs and tunica kind of evenly. It also stretched a little skin, which I was tired of. That’s why I switched to OTS since it targets my inner penis so well and my skin is actually loose when I do it, which is awesome.

Upper angles generally pull less on skin than the lower ones. In some cases this change of position may cause more stress to the shaft itself for a given weight.

For example, if a guy was hanging 10 lbs. SD or BTC but skin was supporting 5lbs. of the load, only 5 lbs. were applied to the shaft. If the same guy hangs 10 lbs. with no skin involvement SO or OTS, 10 lbs. are applied.

For the most part I feel the strain strongest along the sides of the shaft where my penis meets the pelvic bone. There is probably some small stretch in the tunica but I doubt it’s alot being that I wear my hanger pretty close to the base on my shaft.

Veesel,

You might want to check that the strain you feel along the sides of your shaft doesn’t extend further behind your pubic bone. I also feel strain along the sides when hanging SO, but I can trace the taut tissues behind my pubic bone all the way back to my ischium.

Especially given your low LOT, I’m inclined to think your SO gains are likely to be tunica gains. For you, SO may give you a better tunica stretch than OTS. OTS is non-optimal IMO because it forces your shaft to wrap over the front of your pubic bone, adding friction and attenuating some of the force coupled back to your inner penis. SO, or better yet, 10 o’clock hanging, especially for guys with low LOT, holds the penis is a straighter line and maintains near constant tension all the way back to the ischium.

BTW, how do you keep the hanger from sliding forward when you grip so close to the base? How much weight do you use? Do you feel a lot of skin stretch?
