Gained in FL, but lost in EL...Huh?

First, I would like to thank Random Giant for talking about wrapping your head with tape while using a vacuum hanger. I gave up on the vacuum because I got a bad water blister while using it as an ADS, and it hurt like hell if I tried hanging heavy weight. Now with the tape, I am hanging close to 10lbs with NO problems! And I gotta say…it feels damn good too! I was having issues with the Bib with pain and swelling. So thanks again Random Giant!!!

Anyways, because of this new found bit of gold, I have been getting in some great hanging sessions. Here is my issue; In only one week of hanging with the Vacuum, I have gained a little more than an 8Th of an inch in FL, but lost an 8Th of an inch in EL. I thought this was strange. Does this mean that gains are coming? I haven’t seen any real gains in over a year in either FL or EL, So I am ecstatic to see some movement finally! However, I would really like to see both measurements move in the positive direction! What do you think? And thanks again for the help!!!

Either you lost a little EQ (Make sure you’re doing plenty of Kegels) or it was a measuring variance. 1/8” is pretty small change and could be a measuring error. I don’t think you can lose EQ that fast, so I’m going with measuring error. Measure again in a week or two & see if anything changes…

Nah…no error. Im one of those cronic measures and its still the same. My EQ has been up and down. Funny thing is when my EQ is really good, I actually loose a little length. Im hoping that it means gains are coming! I will just keep hanging and hope for the best.

Flaccid BPFSL gains are gains ‘in the pipeline’. If you keep working, eventually you should be able to translate those to BPEL/ erect gains.

Ya that’s what I have always heard, and that’s what I’m hoping for. Im just puzzled by the EL loss. Im assuming that it will come back, and then some. Just wondering if anyone else out there may have had this happpen to them.

Hey if you read this guide (it just refreshed my memory), I noticed my length would at first retract then eventually bounce back to a bigger length. I just had to keep hanging / riding the fatigue to get this to happen. You could be experiencing something similar.

Oh sweet! Thanks for the reply and help. I just measured again today. I’m up another 8Th of and inch in bpfl…still no change in EL accept for my loss. Its the first movement Ive seen in a LONG time so I’m stoked! I can’t wait to see some gains!

By the way, BPFSL gains always equated to BPEL gains for me also. I always am .5” behind, but it takes weeks sometimes months to match it.

One more thing; this may be encouraging. For most hangers, in their early stages, they tend to gain much more FSL than EL. Also, eventually, with many hangers, their EL gains start to pace their FSL gains, although their FSL tends to stay well ahead of their EL. In the case of Bib, his FSL never exceeded his EL by more than 1.5”. Although everyone is different, perhaps this may alter your expectations. Be sure to keep track of your FSL; in some ways it’s a better indicator of your progress than your EL.

Thanks again for the input! I just cant believe how fast I am adding in BPFSL lately. After not seeing any real gains in over a year, all the sudden in the last two weeks I am up a full .25 of an inch! That blows me away, and I’m feeling really encouraged. :-)

Update:

Since I started this thread on 5-24-09 I have added a full half an inch in BPFSL! That’s a half inch in 1 month…Amazing! At first I gained FL but lost an 8Th of an inch in EL. Well I have since gained back the 8Th of an inch, and I am showing signs that I may start gaining EL again. So I have not yet recorded an EL gain. However, I do feel like they are right around the corner. I have not seen really any movement whether it be FL or EL in about a year, so I am excited no finally see some progress. I will keep you all updated.

How long are you hanging in your sets with the Vac? I am doing long ones and I haven’t gained from hanging exclusively in a while.

I’m doing two 1 hour sets a day. And about once or twice a week I double that up and repeat that in the evening. I also have found that if I shock my dick about once a week, or once every other week or so, and hang one set with much higher weight than usual…that really helps a lot. That’s when I usually see that extra growth.

On a side note…I would like to hear more on how you hang so much weight. Can you post to my other thread more about this? I would like to compile one good Vac hanging thread. Thanks!
