Do you need days off while hanging?

As the title states: Is it customary to take days off while hanging? Ie. 5/2 split or 6 on 1 off etc? Or can you hang straight without break?


This account is another iteration of the previously banned deadwood187 (see his previous end). He delights in trolling this board for some reason.

Strictly speaking you don’t need to take days off when hanging unless you feel that you need to.

In the real world however, injuries can creep up on you suddenly if you don’t get any proper recovery time, especially with collagenous structures that are heavily fatigued. For example high level marathon runners in training often get strains at the musculotendinous junction of the gastrocnemious in the calf, which seem to just suddenly happen. Of course they don’t just suddenly happen; it’s accumulated fatigue that has been building up.


Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. And the ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth.

I had days where I could not hang as long or hang due to being busy but I didn’t really schedule a day off.


Started: (NOV14) BPEL 5" MEG 4.75" BEG 4.75"

Current: BPEL 6.438 MEG 4.875" BEG 5.25"

If you can manage 7 day/week great. I wouldn’t recommend hanging heavy every day though. Some days go lighter. You have to pay attention to your penis health though. Everyone can tolerate different intensities so it is always better to build up slow in weight and length of time hanging. What type of hanger you are using will also determine to some extent intensity and length of time.

Lots of guys say they don’t need days off, but personally my dick always turned to jelly when I didn’t take any off days while hanging. AT LEAST 1 day a week is perfect for me, it allows your dick to recover from the heavy loads and get your EQ back up to par :)

Yup, same here. From reading around the forums, the majority of guys do lose EQ a lot. There are some that their EQ isn’t affected, and I know others such as Bib says that you have to ride through the occasional bad EQ as a result of hanging everyday.

That’s a good way to lose it for good, IMHO.

A follow-on question to the OP: how long have you kept at the same weight and still made gains? What was the weight, and how long did you stay with it (weeks, months)?

I’ve been hanging for 11 months now 3 sets a day, I don’t have set days I take off if one day is needed I will take it. I have done my set the last 4 days since Monday, this afternoon I felt tired/exhausted so I took it off. Tomorrow I start up again. The most I have gone is 7 days straight.

I’m sure this is been asked and answered before, but why is there a prevailing sentiment about consistency in hanging versus stretching? Why is taking breaks and having down time with stretching such a big deal then staying on a “consistent painting schedule?” While the technique may be different, isn’t the effect of the same?

I just started hanging this week. (4x20 min sets @2.5 lbs). I must say on my 10 min breaks my EQ is about a 9-10. I have read somewhere on here that this happens in early stages of hanging. I will aim to hang everyday with no days off as long as my EQ is solid and I’m lucky/patient enough to have no injuries.


Started 11/2014 6" BPEL x 4" MEG (Ballpark #'s)

As of 01/2017 7 1/2" BPEL x 4 7/8" MEG

Goal for 2018 is 8" BPEL x 5 1/4" MEG! PE'ing Just Over a Year and Going for 8x6

I hang everyday and my penis had swollen and sore everyday so I can’t see the gain, but if I have 2 days off then my penis heal, I see my gain :)

But I think I will not have day off anymore , or may be 2days off only in 1month to see if it gain or not, hanging everyday and let the penis always stretch is the key to win :)

Hang the same weight you on your penis on your arm with it stretched out and tell me how your arm feels after one week.

It normally takes a day to recover for me in regards to EQ, if I hang every day. What I normally do is I use pump straight after hanging to combat this, given I only hang for 20-30 minutes a day.


Hanging heavy weights could cause injury if one is not conditioned to such weights. Before you decide to go heavy, you need to go through a conditioning process of slowly building up weights to the point when you feel comfortable. So, please take it slowly and pay attention to your wrapping technique.
