Describe the feelings you have whilst hanging

Well Bib had never really heard of something I’m feeling so just thought I’d widen the idea so people can explain the types of fatigue and feelings they are experiencing during hanging to compare with other people so we can get more of an idea if something is good or bad and give advise etc

Okay well for me, I’ve been experiencing little to no fatigue in my ligaments/fat pad area. I hang BTC and I’m up to using 10 lb’s. For me I’ve been having some real uncomfortable almost painful type feelings. It’s hard to describe but I’ll try. It’s in an area bib describes as ‘inner shaft (1)’ Here’s a definition of the 2 types.

”I define the inner shaft 1 as the shaft from the internal anchor point, the crux or bulbs, to the bottom of the pubic bone. I define inner shaft 2 as the shaft from the bottom of the pubic bone to the skin exit point.”

Okay so my area of pain is kind of on the right side high up just behind the balls, it’s slightly on a bit of that inner shaft (1) and whilst hanging BTC I can feel a lump or a few lumpy parts. I don’t believe it’s a part of the balls but I have to feel through scrotum skin to touch the achying area. I’ve drawn a little diagram to show the area. It’s at the groin intersection, as I put my finger their then pull upwards towards my body moving aside scrotum skin It’s in that area.

Bib said ”OK, it could be a tight area within the minor collagenous tissues. I do not know of anything in that specific area that could be negatively affected by the stress. If you palpated a small ball, that could be a bit of torn collagenous tissue”.

But anyway, I keep experiencing it and it’s making my hanging really hard and I don’t believe it to be beneficial because I have literally 0 gains since I started hanging and that was 6 months ago. I am noticing my erection position is moving down slightly, so when fully hard I can pull it further down. Where as before it would want to stay pointing straight up. If I measure whilst pulling down I get a small gain but I wouldn’t consider that valid really.

I feel for you bro. Can’t say that I’ve experienced anything like what you’re describing. I just started hanging with less than half the weight you use and all that I get is a dull burn right around the base and my ligs.

Don’t know what to tell you on that part, is the small ball that you’re palpating painful to the touch/the stress of hanging, or the whole area including the lumps?

What you’re experiencing sounds like the right thing to lead to gains.

Plus yes it’s the whole area, all on that underside right part. This seems so unusual to get when hanging BTC. I found just now if I pull upwards to the left with the hanger attached it really effects that achy part on the underside right area. I’m thinking since hanging is not effecting my ligaments I should just hang at high angles. But waiting for the say so from bib.

The hips and the groin are an intersection of many muscle groups. The power of the body comes from what can be called the centre/hara/dan tien/waist. This power must be transmitted to the upper and lower body, and therefore the connections and interrelationships of tissues in this region are very complex.

We often think of muscles and ligaments as separate elements, but the whole of the body is connected by the fascia from the tips of your toes to the tips of your fingers. Therefore activity in one area can lead to changes in another.

Even though the you are not directly targetting the tissues where you are experiencing problems, you will be indirectly targetting them through the fascia, which could be causing an adjacent ligament to be pulled in a direction it does not like. High doses of fish oil can help release fascial tissue, but be careful of vitamin A poisoning.

This problem probably falls well into the realm of firegoat’s knowledge of connective tissue.

Have you found that any amount of rest or added hanging changes the intensity of the pain? Has the pain spread/radiated?

Could you expand on this ?

I don’t take rest days as I don’t want things to heal stronger. The pain does tend to spread/radiate in that whole general area. The more sets I do the quicker things start to become unbearable. I often lower the weight after 3-4 sets.

At the moment it’s slightly more of an even ache in the tunica area (inner shaft 1). Basically that portion of inner penis contained around the scrotum area. At the moment that is all that is aching. At the 19 minute mark of each hanging set I take off the weights and do an upwards pull with the hanger on. It gives a very intense stretch.

I’m not sure at all on this subject but I never thought BTC hanging was supposed to effect this inner shaft area. I thought only upwards hanging would target that area. Could anyone offer some insight?

Lastly my balls are aching too.
