I took a 3 month(summer) break after 6-7 months hanging. It took 2-3 weeks to get back to my old weights.
I lost about 1/8” over the break. I then gained the 1/8” back in 2-3 weeks and then gained another 1/8” in 1 month.

When hanging without a break for over 6 months, 4-5 times per week, 1 to 1 1/2 hrs per day, my gains rate is 1/16” in 2-3 months.
As you can see deconditioning did not jump-start my gains. I took the break because I was very busy and did not have the time nor energy to hang. My gut feeling is that the time required to decondition the ligs and tunica after years of hanging such that these tissue would remodel to their newbie strength, would be on the order of one year.
