Chicken choker vs. Captain's wench

I’m just trying to get feedback from different people who’ve tried both the chicken choker and Captain’s wench. I have a wench and have experienced problems with it since I’ve had it. Almost everytime it turns sideways when I try to hang, and also, it’s very hard for me to hang without having bad circulation/ skin turning dark etc. So let us know which you feel is better.

Have you thought about trying the Chickenchoker yourself or one of Piet’s hangers or even a homemade Bib?

The great advantage of homemade stuff is if you don’t like it you can make a different one or one to your own design.

I’m sure when you say chicken choker, you mean the CCH3, since the previous versions could not compete with the Wench in terms of comfort. Since I have both, I’d give you my opinion, but I’ll be terribly biased.

Luckywood are you hanging BTC?

If so it is prob cause the bottom part of the clamp hits your body or nut-sack(or possibly slightly on whatever you are sitting/laying on). In the near future I’m gonna start looking for something to replace the clamp as well, cause it does get annoying when it starts easing to the left side on me. I wish I knew what to ask for or a name for what I would like to get to replace it. It would pretty much be like a hose clamp with a lockdown type lever(kind of look like a oil filter changer for a car, but locks down and much smaller).

Anyway if someone knows what these type hose clamps are called or even if they exist, would someone leave a post with name?

Hopeful,
It can also be a limiting factor such as a stronger or shorter set of ligs on one side. That said, when hanging BTC almost any device will “want” to fall to one side - unless you have a flaccid length that puts the device completely beyond your body. When hanging SD, adjustments can be made to strap positioning to compensate for a “turned” hang.

I don’t see why a device should want to fall to the side in BTC, necessarily.

There must be a way to mod the Wench so it has a flattened back like a Bib and rests nicely, maybe after pushing the scrotum away. Training wheels?

Choker,

Does your hanger suffer from this twisting thing? Looks like its cylindrical from your avatar (I know I should read the thread) so I guess so.

Yeah but it’s 2 cylinders.

My ligs are tighter on the right, so when I hang SD, the whole thing rotates slightly counter-clockwise…

but when I hang BTC the 2 cylinders act like legs ( or TRAINING WHEELS? ) against the area behind your balls ( or on your buttocks if your dick is that long ) to stabilize it so therefore, with BTC, it doesn’t rotate, especially using it “toe-in” on the dorsal surface.

And it only becomes more stable with larger diameter PVC pipes. We have a poster here using 1.25” diameter pipes.

I knew I should have read your thread :) I should probably bother to read the Wench thread too but at least I looked at the pics on that one and skimmed the text.

Captn this is kind of what I was talking about.

I would rather have a little more control than the ratcheting action like with cable clamp.

turns sideways when I try to hang

Hi Luckywood

I now use the Captains wrench being new at this, I seam to be comfortable with this device BTW.

I think its mostly in the wrapping because I have to play around with this which takes the most time to get started.

You have to adjust the weight to make sure that it is centered also make sure that the short hanging strap is also directly even on both sides of your “buddy”. I had a slight twist also but by adjusting, it straighten out.

Since I am using lite weight now I hope to try hanging without the wrap using the foot bubble insole.

I am also looking forward to making and using the CCh3 for the easy on and off access hoping that it is as comfortable.

What i like about this Thread is that it keeps you going. Like now when I visit Lowes and Home Depot I find my self looking for hanging stuff, spending more time there then before. Ideas float here in this site and that’s all it is.

My Best 4by4

Mem,
I have only my own experience to go on, but it is a phenomenon I have experienced with every hanger I have used. My take on this is that if I hang and consistently have my unit turn to one side it is telling me there is a limiting factor at work, and stabilizing the hanger isn’t the course to take. It is better to let gravity and time work this out for me. It always does.
If during one set my unit turns left and the next it turns right all the better: Divide and conquer.
If every set is hung with perfect symmetry who am I to argue with the Gods of PE?
This stuff might matter to some guys but I’m just not the type to tear my hair out worrying over molecules. It’s the big picture that matters to me: Am I comfortable, do things look healthy, am I gaining?

As for the Wench you are familiar with as presented on this forum what can I say; it’s a homebrew device and that’s all it is. You can have four of them for $15. A monkey can make one in 5 minutes using only a scissors. It allows you to hang, manual stretch, and ADS. You can simplify it, complicate it, modify it, or stencil a picture of your Aunt Connie on it. It is out of my hands what Lucky, Hopeful, ChickenChoker or anyone else does with it - it’s their device not mine.
What will ultimately be known as the Captn’s Wench is a story yet too be told.

4by4,

>I think its mostly in the wrapping because I have to play around with this which takes the most time to get started. <

I think that goes for any hanger. If you don’t wrap right, you don’t get a decent session.

>You have to adjust the weight to make sure that it is centered also make sure that the short hanging strap is also directly even on both sides of your “buddy”.<

You mean that the weight is evenly distributed? Is that hard? Doesn’t it just happen automatically?

>Like now when I visit Lowes and Home Depot I find my self looking for hanging stuff, spending more time there then before. Ideas float here in this site and that’s all it is.<

Will we be seeing a 4by4 hanger soon ? :)

Cap,

Interesting so your saying over time it will pull staight. I guess this means you have to ensure that the hanger itself isn’t causing the twisting by restricting the movement on one side more than the other. I guess this could come down to wrapping and placement in the hanger as much as anything. I know it took me a while to get the hang if wrapping and I’m not sure I ever got the placement sorted in the Bib (but I did at least locate the bottom lugs :) ).

My experience of hanging is limited to a homebrew Hubbard stick style hanger, which was bloody annoying and dug in for BTC rather nastily and a Bib, the bib seemed to do BTC very well.

>If every set is hung with perfect symmetry who am I to argue with the Gods of PE? <
I’m a bit of a symmetry nut. I prefer to think of pulling straight (as oppossed to left / right) as a good idea. I figure you are at least then encouraging straight hanging.

>As for the Wench you are familiar with as presented on this forum what can I say<
Not really, I must admit I scanned the text and downloaded a couple of the images. I always seem to be otherwise invovlved when interesting things come out so I get as far as a ‘looks good comment’ and I’m off. Timing is something I’m not too good with. I was hoping to read it properly after the move but someone else fixed the bad thread in the Article forum.

Simplicity is important. I think a lot of the hangers presented here have either ‘seemed’ complex or required a dewalt and 1/4 acre of workshop space, anything that doesn’t has to be good especially if it stop people from hanging with bits of rope or socks.

I don’t have an Aunt Connie.

I took 3 months off and started up again about a week ago. I have been hanging using the wench. I wrap with a piece of cotton shirt that has duct tape on the other side 7’ by 2 1/2’. It makes the wench very comfortable to wear. The wench is easy to put on and comes off pretty fast.
