Change hanging positions how often?

How many sets do you hang in a given position before using another position? Since tiring the ligaments/tissue is thought important, is there a minimum number of sets a person should hang in a given position before changing? I have always hung a minimum of 3 @ 20 minute sets before using another position. Yet the expression ‘divide and conquer’ is often used, so I am a bit confused.

I advocate hanging in the same position until the tissues affected by that position reach total fatigue. IOW, cannot handle any more stress. This could be one set or ten.

Divide and conquer refers to using different angles to stress different tissues, rather than applying the stresses broadly thus limiting the impact and effectiveness.

Try to go by feel as to what angles need to be used and the amount of time to spend on each angle.
