Broke another clamp

Just broke another cable clamp. That’s two in as many days. Anybody else have this problem with their wench.

How do you manage to break them?

The little peice of plastic that catches the teeth breaks. Am I the only one that has this poblem?

I don’t break them, but I do budge them as when I kegel if the clamp is low enough the expansion will pressure the same piece of plastic to slip off. Not all that useful.

Try a metal hose clamp. IMO, you need a stronger tightener with finer adjustments.

I think you might be!! Do you need that much pressure? How much weight are you hanging? Good thing they’re cheap. Perhaps you’ll need to have one made of metal.

Broke one today too at the same spot you did. It must be the enormous girth that just blows them..LOL

Well, I’ve tried hose clamps. I don’t like them I think it might be the shape and I don’t like screwing it on and off.

I just had the last clamp on the first notch when it broke.

I bought one of the big cable clamps. It seems more durable.

I guess it is just this damn girth. I guess I’ll just have to live with it.

The (orange) clamp that was shown with the wench plans was too small to get around the wench so I started using releasable cable clamps (available at Home Depot, and probably elsewhere). They work great. Don’t take up nearly the space that the orange ones do. I use a small pair of needle nose pliers to tighten the clamp and then to release it. Very smooth, very easy.
