Blisters - giving up on vacuum hanging!

12

Just a quick sidebar here:

As a user of the BIB I’ve never experienced these blisters that seem to be reported among vacu-hanger users.

I’m considering purchasing a vacuhanger so I was wondering:

Are these extremely common among vacuhanger users? Is there a known way to avoid them?

I tried a vacuum hanger for about a year with no real gains. Got more skin stretch than anything. I got all my gains with the bib. I wish I would have stuck with the bib hanger. I’m now back to the bib full time!

Sure, just make the thread and ask me or another moderator to add the pics.

I’m getting plenty of use out of mine ;) , I get 0% skin stretch with the vac and prefer it to the bib since I don’t need high weights anyways. Glad to hear you’re still hanging with the bib though.

Racco, it’s safe if you buy the constriction sleeve and tape your head with that tape I linked. I’ve never gotten near a blister if I use that tape. I think I got close to a blister once before I used the tape though. Just start slow and know your limits, most of the blisters I’ve read about happen when guys move up in weight or hanging time too quickly. I’ve never read of a tape user getting a blister yet..

Thank you so much Piet. Here is where I started the thread Longerstretch’s Vac Hanging Setup.

I tried doing a search on how to tape your head but I couldn’t find anything. Is it similar to this Wrapping Video. Could you give me a rundown on how its done. Also those links you posted no longer work.

Does the BIB work well for uncircumcised folks? I’m uncircumcised and have always been under the impression that any kind of traction device would just pull off my dick because we still have the skin that’s “designed” to roll up beyond the tip of the glans. So I’ve been vac hanging. However, I always get a lot of fluid buildup around the frenulum that can’t seem to be able to avoid no matter what I try. The taping, by the way, works fantastically for controlling swelling. Except, that is, for the frenulum area in uncircumcised men :(

I learned how to tape my head, by the way, by looking at videos on how to use the Static Stretcher Heavy Duty on their web site.

Hey longerstretch,
I’m new to taping with a vacuum device, but I do notice a huge difference in the fluid buildup in the glans when simply sticking a 2x2 square of tape over the end of my glans. I have tried several different types of tape over the past two days and all seem to do the trick.

On the links, I’d guess that he’s linking to J&J paper first aid tape, which is one of the types I’ve tried. I’ve also used 3M Micropore which also seems to work fine for me.

Oh, and thanks RandomGiant for bringing the tape use up. I really appreciate the info.

It does not make a difference and I`m uncut so you better believe me:)

I simply don`t see why having skin on the forehead would make any difference.

I think people who buy into this myth give up on hanging too early, blaming being uncut instead of realizing that it is their technique that is the problem.

I taped my glans today with the same setup I use as posted above and I got zero fluid build-up and I can take shorter rest breaks now before starting a new set. This is going to revolutionize my routine. I just used paper tape that I bought at Wally World. None of your penis is exposed to vacuum with this setup.

Last week I couldn’t find the 2” tape I was looking for, so I tried some coaches tape. It’s less porous, and really easy to use. Also, I even tried hanging with my vacuum device and it’s working remarkably well. On Friday I did five 10 minute hanging sets (some a bit longer) with 7.5-15 lbs as an experiment, and it was very successful! Today I’m doing about 40 minutes of hanging with the device (7.5 for 10 minutes, and 12.5 for 2x15 minutes).

Here is my ADS log with pictures of my vacuum device.

I think this is good advice. And like I said earlier in the thread—I don’t want blisters on my dick. This is why I bypassed vacuum hanging altogether & went straight to the BIB hanger. And since I’ve used the BIB nothing funny or strange has happened to my penis. It’s interesting to see that even uncut guys prefer to use a BIB.

Although—maybe blisters on your penis from vacuum hanging is a sure sign you’ve done to much too soon, since clearly your penis is not ready for those kinds of stresses/ pressures… It just seems like there’s less complaints about things going wrong when people use the BIB// or a well-made non-vacuum hanger vs. vacuum hangers.

Its really got to do a lot more w/ conditioning the skin to take the vacuum. IMO there are lot more things that could go wrong with a BIB than vacuum hanging but blisters are usually the number one reason people do not turn to vacuum hanging. The key is to start slow. Don’t jump up in weight or time too soon. Warm-up and work on attachment technique. Also having added vacuum helps tremendously and I think of it as almost a given. I usually always add 7 mmHg before I attach the weight.

There are things that can be accomplished with a vacuum hanger that cannot be accomplished with a BIB like sets over 20 minutes, or the dual use as an ADS. Its also made my head bigger which was a problem area of mine.

Whatever hanger you use there is always going to be pros and cons. The pros of a vacuum hanger outweighed the cons to me. Just like people have to work on wrapping technique w/ the BIB you have to find ways to attach a vacuum hanger. The way I’ve been doing it lately is awesome. I have zero chance of getting a blister, can take shorter breaks, and hang for longer sets.

You’re right, there are some reasons for people to use vacuum hangers— that’s a good point.
