Any experienced Bib hangers out there?
I’ve been hanging for a year with some breaks throughout for setbacks. I’ve had some decent success with close to 3/4 of an inch gain in length. I’ve been having a recurring problem though that I can’t seem to manage. I’ve consulted Bib himself on this issue, but still haven’t been able to figure it out. I was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem and found a solution.
The problem: After hanging a set or two (my top weight right now is 21 pounds), I develop edema on the top of the shaft between the glans and the wrap. This will progressively get worse as more sets are hung. I’ve tried just about every permutation of wrap, wrap tightness, wrap thickness, bolt settings, getting all of the blood out of the shaft and head, etcetera and can’t seem to figure it out. It’s really annoying and I’m almost to the point of giving up. Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you very much for your help.
