A Hanging Theory

As you know (or maybe you don’t), a lot of our body is made up of protein. “Proteins form the structural framework of tissues and other structures in the body. For example, collagen helps make up tendons, ligaments, cartilage and other connective tissue” - Proteomics Laboratory.

Okay, my point is that when you eat protein, the body heals and builds. So, why not eat a high protein meal while you hang? Of course, carbs and some healthy fats will help with a balanced and nutritious meal and they play a role in helping build and repair the body after damage.

So, what do you guys think? :D

Good diet (not only proteins) is important for gains. I don’t think anybody will argue with that.

I think you bring up a good subject. I’ve been thinking about the same thing, but I was also thinking the opposite. Would it be better to work harder for 5 days with a lighter diet, then on your days off eat a lot of protein to repair the body. I know that thought is a little off the wall. I was just wondering. I wasn’t necessarily thinking of protein, I was thinking of Glucosamine. That has the ability to repair tendons, ligaments etc. I have been taking my vitamins and Glucosamine daily. I was wondering if I should only use the Glucosamine only a couple of days a week. I wonder if the Protein or Glucosamine strengthen our tissues, so we have to work harder to stretch them. Hopefully, someone will have some input on this.

Just hang strong and hang long. And eat right. That’s my theory.

Haven’t some of our best gainers had terrible diets? Like Bib for example.

I think that if it repairs the tissue, its good. From what I have gathered here (someone correct me if I’m wrong), you want the tissue to be repaired while it is stretched. That is why some say to hang everyday.

An overall good healthy balanced diet would be best, IMO.

I agree that a healthy diet is good, but there are different proteins for different needs. For an example, casein protein will take a lot longer to digest and will provide the body with a continuous “leak” of protein. On the other hand, whey protein (whey isolate to be more precise) is absorbed VERY fast. Guys take whey isolate and hydrolyzed whey after a workout since it gets absorbed so quickly. Have the casein protein an hour before the hanging session and have the whey during and after and you are set for some gains :D
