How long does everyone here hang till they take a day or two break?

I have been hanging for 2 months, and am now up to 12 lbs, no pops yet, but gains for sure (1/4 inch).

I know you are going to say “listen to your body, because it depends,” but I am just curious.

Most of the time I hang (1 hour per day (3 X 20min sessions)) for 2 weeks, and take like the 2nd sunday off (13 on, 1 off). Everytime I am ready to hang, my ligs are super sore, even after a little hot pack for 5 min on them as warmup. I just tolerate it and once the first 20 min session is over, they feel like normal. So I naturally continue with the 2 remaining 20min sessions.

I figure I shouldnt change much, if at all, since I am still seeing gains, but I am just curious what your routines are in terms of weight, time hanging per day, and days on/off.

Does anyone here hang for more than 1 hour per day?? Last time I was about to up the weight, I considered just hanging for more than 1 hour, but decided to just up the weight….what are your thoughts on this?

I suppose if you have no limits on privacy, etc., the best way is to go by feel. When you get to the point of total fatigue, and just can’t do any more, take a day or two off.

Now I have not heard that one before. If you start out sore, usually you have to drop weight to continue to hang. And the soreness does not just go away.

Work up to the amount of time you have available first. For instance, if you are going to be on the computer for two hours, then watching TV for an hour, then multi-task and hang for three hours. After you are hanging for the amount of available time, then concentrate on moving up the weight. BTW, you might have to move up in weight while you are increasing the time, but probably not.

There are 168 hours in a week. How many hours do you have in private, where you can be doing other things. If you have the private time, take advantage of it and grow your unit while doing other stuff.
