Can you tell me you experience and tell me what device you use and tell me about water retention and for how many hours you wear your extender.

Gekiro, the effects of stress relaxation (the mechanism), or more accurately static progressive stretch (the method), have been shown to have a very efficient ability to elongate connective tissue permanently. More efficiently than creep-based traction, in fact. So I do think it would work slightly better as an extender design.

There is one important note: whether screw-based or spring-based, an extender is still an extender. Whichever method you use, you should expect to have to spend significant time in your extender. So while a spring-based extender might take 1000-2000 total hours to gain an inch, I wouldn’t expect the same results from a screw-based extender in 500 hours. Either method is all about maximizing time.

The point of my device is precisely that it does not have springs. It is designed to stretch and hold, let the penile tissues relax, stretch a bit further and hold, and on and on.

I use a vac cap from Monkeybar. Vacuum is something you need to practice with. You need to get the vacuum level just right as to not cause blisters or edema but still strong enough that the cap will not slip. Edema and blisters can also be prevented through the use of glans wrapping, taping, or silicone constrictors/sleeves. I’ve never used the phallosan, so I can’t compare it to my vac cap, but I know the phallosan has a pump, so it is possible you pumped to too high a pressure.

I am one who made the switch from a spring based to non-sping based extender about a year after I started extending.

My view which is only based on my personal experience is that a spring based extender is probably best for starting out. You gradually build up tension and time in extender getting to know how your penis reacts to PE. During that time you will have also taken some breaks and noticed how you EQ reacts.

Once you have gone through this conditioning phase I would recommend a move to a non spring based extender like a slider both for the stress relaxation potential mentioned by Rootsnatty and for ease of use. But that is just a personal opinion.

Extender vs hanging-it seems the preferences line up according to beliefs, biases, maybe convenience. Could a rational argument be made for including both in a PE regimen?

Yes I am thinking of trying a bit of hanging to complement extending and pumping. The issue for me is how to do it discretely.

I think the idea could lend itself well to designing a universal component, that is, the end piece, that could be fitted to both the extender rods and hanging apparatus. As far as the latter is concerned, time and descretion are indeed difficult. The only job I can think of where unusual movements and strange garments would blend right in would be a clown. Perhaps I’ll change professions to accomodate my new interest.

I think hanging and progressive static stretch (like Slider) can be combined easily as static progressive stretch doesn’t rely on a constant traction force. But I think spring-based extenders will become more and more ineffective as the hanging toughens the connective tissues, eventually becoming little more than complicated ADS’s.

I agree. A hinged device like a bib hanger could be engineered so it also works as a head piece for an extender. Might work better than the things we are currently using. I envisage something say made from stainless steel with a hinge on one side and a clamp screw on the other with soft inner jaws say made out of silicone or some sort of rubber. it would need holes on either side to fit the extender rods and a mounting point for hanging. Could it be built compact enough for concealment? I do not know.
