How Much Tension Should You Be Using?

I may very well be using to much tension but I can’t seem to get my extender not to slip without strapping it down pretty hard. This, however, turns my glans purple within about 5 minutes. I would really like to use my extender for a few hours a day but it doesn’t feel like it is doing anything if I just use softer tension. What is a good rule of thumb for how much tension you should be using? I can’t remember the name of the extender but it is a brand name.

Which extender? I used the x4 and followed the recommended guidlines. Worked very well.
They generally come with several cushions and elastic wraps that will fix the slipping problem if applied properly.

I am using the ProExtender with the wide strap and I also use the grippy wrap that came with it. I am used to hanging with weights and I am trying to get close to that tension, within the limits of the extender obviously, but I may be using to much tension.

How much weight did you hang with? How long ago did you hang before starting with the extender?

If you are slipping out, reduce the tension.

Noose and strap style systems are a grind. It is necessary to take breaks every 30 to 60 minutes to allow the glans to regain circulation. The higher the tension the less time I found I could stay in before requiring a break.

If you are just starting out I would go to the first index line, 33% tension, while you are acclimating to the system. Once you feel more comfortable you can begin to modulate cycles between the 2nd index line and the last, essentially between 66%-100% tension.

My approach when using the X4 with a strap was always short 30 minute cycles @ 100% tension for 3-4 hours a day. However, I believe that cycling between tension levels is wise.

At the end of the day, I am a firm believer that it is time under tension, so the first ingredient is just finding your rhythm and being committed to putting in the time.

I got up to 8 lbs and then took a 2-month break after about 5 months hanging and now I am starting up with an extender to bring something more consistent into my routine.

Ok, that sounds doable! I will try the 30 minute cycles for 4 hours a day at low tension at first. Thanks for the comment!

I use the VLC Tugger in combination with the x4 and it 100% eliminates any slipping issues. I’m going to put the tension up to the first tension line and go from there. I feel a little stretch which is fine because I’ll be able to wear it for a lot longer.

If one experiences slippage, it is down to two things. First ; traction/force, but most importantly, the length of the extender vs the length of the penis. We all are prone to wishful thinking, but we have to make the extender fit our penis at the length that we’ve got.

Try to put together an extender at a length, that when compressed - that is compressed with one hand all in - and then our glans ( the head of the penis) are almost in front of the extender,( the penis stretched out with the other hand), so that the noose can go downward straight into the holes and fasten. The noose will then hold your penis to the extender without wanting to pull forward « through» the glans. It is just the mechanics of the extender that pulls forward, as it should be. In this position, you will be able to keep the noose not so tight and able to let some blood flow going.

We all want to impress ourselves, by keeping the extender too long for our penis, but in the end it’s the result that counts.

Most extenders do have 3 or 4 stripes on the part that is in front of the adjustment screws - the part that disappear when you compress the extender. Those lines tell the traction - the more lines that disappear when you have the extender on and adjust the screws - the higher the traction.

If your extender do not have them, you’ll have to go after what you are feeling in your penis.

Did a description of the extender, and how it works, put it on, a kind of suggested routine follow theextender ? Was there any info of how much traction it could deliver ?
