frankiepunk,

Mavis Beacon is a great “teach your self typing” program that is very effective. If you can’t burn a copy from a friend or afford your own consider Googling for free typing programs. It doesn’t take long to learn at least the basics and will make the whole computer experience much more enjoyable.

Running a Massive Co-Front.

I very rarely post. Probably what turned me off is when I asked a very simple question that could have been easily answered with one sentence and the ignorant response I received was ‘search.’

Plugging my question into the search tool numerous times did nothing.
I couldn’t locate a clear answer to my question no matter what I tried.

So I really don’t waste time anymore posting.

:) Ah the extender question.

Sometimes when you’ve been around here for a while, you know there’s a perfect thread on a particular issue, you can remember reading it but you still can’t find it with a search.

For instance, someone was looking for a particular thread the other day and the only way I could find it was by remembering that I had posted in it and some keywords I would likely have used.

There is so much information here and so many things have been discussed time and again, but look at the upside at least you didn’t post one of the questions in this thread

The most often asked and annoying questions!

:)

Busy pulling on my dick.

Actually I just try to post if I think I can be helpful.

I think most people rarely post in fear of appearing stupid. The standards of posts on this board are remarkably high. Sometimes there is little to add - and only a fool would post on a topic he didn’t have prior knowledge on. Considering the knowledge and argumentative skills of some members on these boards, there is more to learn than say and opinions are dangerous to express because more often than not there are ignored or ridiculed unless a reputation of excellence proceeds you, in which case people will listen to what you have to say. It seems people are more interested in what they have to say, than what you have to say - which is undeniably true.

I’m too embarrased

I’m trying to, but the reasons given above are entirely accurate and valid ones regarding why new people don’t post much.

You just have to be brave I suppose. I’m brave. Or stupid.

Or perhaps both.

Always tell us that you tried a search and nothing came up. That separates those who try from those who just won’t search right then and there. It will also straighten out any communications between parties too. I usually run a search for whomever, then post the link to the thread on how to do searches better themselves too. Everybody wins. Though I rarely post in the public forums though.

I think even I may have written “the search is your friend” to a few people, but that is the minority for sure. Plus it is almost always veteran posters with hypochondria of some medical condition (ass diseases in particular) they posted about quite often already (and was discussed to DEATH) or some woman-related drama.

In the end, get the most out of this board. Put effort in and do not be afraid to post if you couldn’t come across an answer. It is up to you and if you stop cause someone was grumpy to you then, it is your choice.

PS: I hold the monopoly on grumpy and moody and will sue those who try to steal my trademarked niche.;)

Hey westla, do you check the newbie forum? I only joined like 4 days ago and I been posting left, right and centre. But I haven’t been able to post here till today. Maybe that’s happening.

Being a new member and not knowing a lot about PE, I think most of us try to gain some experience and size before we start posting with any regularity.

I see every thread that contains new posts, but I don’t always read each one. Perhaps I should have titled this “why don’t lurkers post?” since some new members do jump right in.

Thread gets crushed or hijacked, rather lame

I don’t post because pretty much everything I ever wanted to know is already here and I lack enough experience to give advice !

Welcome to the posting side SLD.

I haven’t posted much because shortly after I started the newbie routine, I moved. Procrastination and a general lurker mentality kept me away from the routine. Now I lurk to keep myself informed, and see how all the regulars are doing. I had a scare a little while back where I thought I had inadvertently revealed the website (Not sure if Thunder recalls my panicked PM), and myself in the process.

I’d like to say that I’ve recovered from the self esteem issues I had when I first found Thunder’s, but many of them are still present. I feel where I’m at a point in my life that everything I wanted to improve about it, is within reach. The only remaining obstacle is *this*. Now I find myself contemplating what goals I should aim for (PE), what has driven me to them (Trying to stamp out any inferiority complexes that remain), and if reaching those goals will improve my life.

I even tend to beat myself up over the fact that I come here. My partner of almost 6 years does nothing but affirm what I know about average sizes, his experience, and myself. Yet for some reason, the slightest hint of doubt on my part, or worry, will send me into a minor depression.

That’s enough ranting for now. Porn, the “community” I’m a part of, and the horrors of Internet exaggeration are all things I feel embarrassed about succumbing to.

EDIT:At the beginning I mention the general lurker mentality kept me away from the routine, I meant to say that I had intended to use the original post as a way to keep motivated. Since I started lurking, I didn’t bother with the routine.
