Our server company is doing a test of new routing connections this Friday night at 7:00 PM MST. The test should only last 30 minutes. This is in preparation for the actual relocation of the company into a new facility. The move is scheduled to start at 6:00 PM Eastern Time Saturday the 19th. We will be offline for 5 to 10 hours. Half way through the move they are going to start reconnecting servers, so we may be one of the lucky ones, then again maybe not. At least that is what they are saying at this moment. It may change and if I hear anything further I will post it. PE Forums will also be offline at approximately the same time.
I don’t think PE Forums went offline at all tonight. This forum was down for a little while. So far I have not heard anything about changing plans, so I guess tomorrow night we will see. In case something does go wrong or I am notified of a delay in getting the forums back online, I’ll post on the old PE Forums.
OK, it looks like it is going to happen as planned.
Earlier this evening, we performed our routing test. The test was a success. We did identify a small issue with one of our IP ranges through one of our providers and that issue is being resolved. Consequently customers on that block experienced a longer down time than expected during this test.
At this point, with the successful completion of the routing test, everything is GO for the data center move tomorrow.
