Hey thunders, I’ve got a question for everyone here. But mainly this is targeted and those of you with or who have had girth on the lower end - 4.5” or less.

So here’s my question:

Is it possible that my lack of girth is hindering my ability to jelq properly?

I’m finding it difficult to get a decent grip on my dick as I jelq, and thus trap and push blood down the shaft. I was jelqing inconsistently since August of 07 and have been consistently since December. And yet I’ve seen basically no girth or length gains. What I have seen:

-Increased EQ (which has decreased since I’ve taken a bit of a break the last couple of weeks)
-Bigger glans (litterally the only gain I’ve seen. No actual increase in the two big measurements - BPEL or MSEG.)

Does anyone have any suggestions?

No I do not think it is because of your size, this takes some time, and getting the right technique down can take time to.
You can always try different grips.
Try to just press at the sides of your penis with two fingers, see how that feels.
I like it that way.
This way you force blood and expansion on in the CC, the side chambers.

Also try different erection levels, different lubes etc.

Glans and EQ is getting bigger/better, that is a good sign.

Edit: I have got bigger girth myself so this might not be relevant to you, sorry. I read to fast first, but now I see you have been around some time.

Good luck anyway, perhaps later on move on to pump, clamping if the grip does not get any better?

I’m not sure though WW, whether you mean, Use fingerson each hand or hold it between two finger on one had (which seems to me to be the best option - Holding the penis with 1st+2nd finger at the base of the fingers. or 3rd and 4th

You would have to use n ‘overhand’grip and pull vertically to one side, and then change hands to complete the exercise.

Worth a try. And you might have to adapt the positions to suit your hand.

Using an OK grip you should be able to trap enough blood, but make sure that you have heated your dick. Also try with different erection strengths and get that grip real hard.

Like others are saying, it is just a matter of sharpening your technique a little.

Willywilly has a lot of good advice for you. There are lots of different grips to try, which may help you with techniques.

Additionally several people have told me that low-erection jelqs target length, higher erection jelqs (70 to 80% erect) target girth. From my minimal experience at PE’ing, that seems to be true.

My girth is only 4.25” and I feel as though I am in the same position as you. I’ve tried many different jelqing techniques (high erection, low erection, wet, dry, overhand, underhand, etc), but have yet to get any gains. I even tried jelqing with a cockring on, but no matter how light I jelqed, it seemed like I was overdoing it. My EQ fluctuates, but is definitely better when I’m jelqing, and it does seem that I have made some head gains.

I was never able to jelq properly using the the underhand technique, so I mostly sticked to overhand. When I jelqed, it felt as though the blood didn’t want to stay in my shaft. It seemed as though it all rush to my head, but then disappeared (if that makes sense).

When I start jelqing again (on a bit of a decon right now) I’m going to use kingpole’s “V” grip technique. Basically, you are jelqing between your third and fourth finger on the underside of your shaft. This doesn’t hurt the wrists as much, and I hope that this grip will allow for more blood to stay in the shaft while I’m jelqing.

I would suggest investing in a pump and combine pumping and jelqing.


The primary goal of PE should be to make your penis as healthy as possible in both form and function. If you do that, increased size will follow.

The pump is a good idea. Also, try reading the tread by fow in which he shows the grip he uses. He couldn’t use the traditional ok grip either, because of arthritis in his thumbs I believe. It worked for him, so it might work for you as well.

The thread I was referring to is Fow’s “Fowfer” and other Routines. In post #65, he post a pic of the modified jelq grip he has been using since 1999.

Pumping is probably worth looking into. If not right now, then in the future.

My recent girth gains were correlated with 1) pumping 2) 70-80% erection level jelqs. Which did the trick? Who knows. (I am guessing both)

For what it is worth, I find pumping very relaxing and calming. I think it must cause some release of “feel good” brain chemicals, in me at least.

(The free metal pump does not have a gauge, so you need to get P131 — I do not see that size cylinder without a free pump, maybe write them and see if they have it cheaper without it)

I am not sure whether you need a 1.75” or 1.5” cylinder. Check the “Selecting Your Cylinder size”. thread I linked to below.

Picturebrite does not seem to have a 1.5” If you need that try BostonPump.com. I have the Standard Design Cylinder ($55.00) and I like it a lot.

I’ve tried a routine that combined jelqing and pumping for a few months. Pumping never really gave me any good expansion (or gains for that matter). But hey, it could work for you. Who knows?

If you have been jelqing since aug ‘07 you’re probably conditioned enough to start experimenting with clamping, just put safety first and take it nice and easy.

Thanks everyone, I really appreciate all of the advice. In the next couple of weeks I’m going to try and mix up my jelq technique, see if I can’t find something that really works for me. Perhaps it is time to move on to more advanced techniques.

I’m asking the question here because it may help both of you. How long are you taking to warm up? And I mean not just the shower, I mean with a hot rice sock or heating pad.
