As far as cock ring vs pump gains or usefulness in a pressure sense? I place the usefulness on the pump.

Reason is simple. Cock ring lacks the abilityto generate enough pressure to distend the tissue past its maximum. Gaining with a pump invites more blood than a cock ring can and exerts outside pressure that can also increase the size of blood vessels. As a hybrid method a pump stretches you to the max and also causes the microtear mechanism we use in Small Traumas.

This is why, you using the pump at both low pressure and short duration, you aren’t really going to get a maximum stretch or anything beyond that which can give the Small Trauma benefits. This is speculative on my part but has held true in my experiences and observations.

Also, fluid buildup is a mixed basket. No, I do not recommend you pump until you reach it and that be your goal but long term issues with it aren’t notable as long as you aren’t ramping pressure into an unsafe range. I’ve pumped until lumpy and fluffy enough times to say that in itself seems to have no ill effects. However, to be productive you want to not pump that far usually. That far doesn’t really offer added benefit. Not as far as I have personally seen.

Now if you’re talking about the really big guys, they’ll pump till they pack their tubes. Regardless of fluid buildup. They utilize the “time under tension” method commonly used for extenders and simply use a longer duration at those distended states to make themselves larger permanently. 8x6Dream follows the one guy, Insitenix or something. Dude is comical massive now.

Well, it’s hard to tell early on. It truly is going to depend on what you did in this month.

What devices did you use?
What exercises did you do?
What was the intensity of what you did?
Did you take rest days?

Devices like hangars and pumps often are culprits for tough ligaments, especially early on.

Using a very hard, long duration manual stretch can do it. Especially using a Length Master device, as it allows you apply an unreal amount of force to do a stretch assisted manually.

Very intense use of any tugging device counts also.

If you run a 5 or 6 day PE schedule this is a are factor as well.

If that is your concern, can you tell me what exactly you did to make you feel as though you have toughened your ligaments?

I admit the expression is misleading - it was supposed to mean that CR and VP are doing the same just in opposing ways.

Do you have an opinion on how important it is to actually maintain an erection in the pump?

It feels very different if I start with erection and the erection stays until I normalize pressure from just inflating it and then deflating it.

With erection my skin appears less puffy - it feels better - but it is also more complicated to get and keep erections for an extended period of time especially because I cannot stimulate if my Dr Jekyll hydes under the bulb.

Your question is directly related to the length of the session. As short as your sessions are currently, at 3 minutes, it is imperative to be erect. That way you’ll get the most out of it.

However, sessions longer than 15 minutes it is pretty well impossible to maintain an erection that long with willpower alone. Five minutes is beyond many people. But with longer durations you will inflate to a greater state of expansion, erect or not and especially if using a heat pad or other heat source contacting the tube. I am very serious. Heat adds more to pumping than I can convey. Just make sure it isn’t too hot. Cylinder heat- Modulate it before you blister the base of your penis where it seals.

There’s a lot more a pump can do for you if used properly to its full potential.

Have been reading a ton of your posts and appreciate your sheer volume of knowledge and willingness to share. I’ve been consistently doing the Newbie routine since the beginning of 2017 & understand one should exhaust it and decon breaks (I.e. Not be having any gains) before moving on to hybrid methods.

However, while I’ve had some surprising (to me) gains (like a 6.4% increase of volume), I’ve always had a small flaccid hang. Over the last couple days I was reading up on golf weights on Thunder’s Place and how they can keep your unit stretched out to heal in an advantageous way AND improve one’s flaccid hang. So I was curious if you thought wearing one (just 1 so as to not overdo) thru the day, would constitute moving into hybrid territory (with the caveat that I stand at my desk all day for work) which if true, I’d want to avoid for quite a while (assuming my gains continue for quite a while doing manual PE)?

Negative. An ADS is a stretch traction over time type trauma, like most manual stretches. It doesn’t have a motion or stress one point to trauma to add that and make it a hybrid method. It holds you in place over time to cause the additional tissue growth, which is pretty standard for traction over time usage. Pretty sure I listed ADS in the work as a traction type trauma.

It isn’t a hybrid because, even if you do manuals that are a small trauma type damage it doesn’t happen simultaneously and thusly is not a hybrid trauma pattern like Clamping or Hanging.
