Ok, I’ve always been afraid of measuring, but I finally took the plunge!

I measured before I started; despite being afraid to do so, and my nbsfl was 6.5 inches. Currently the same type of measurement yields 7.375; hell yeah! The funny thing about all of this, is that my dick does look a little larger, but not as much as what the numbers say. I guess it’s kind of the when you look at yourself and you can’t see how much muscle your really have type of syndrome that comes into play here; does anyone else experience this?

And to add, just because it sounds so good to say, or type; my bpfsl is 8 inches! I feel so damn good!

Now, I’m still afraid to take an erect measurement, so I’m going to wait till my nbsfl reaches 8 inches before I do so.

For one thing, in my erect state it doesn’t really look bigger than what it was. I just don’t want to disappoint myself; it’s just a phobia I suppose. My prediction is that it is somewhere a little over 6.75.

Starter, you’ve been on this site since Feb 2004 and you haven’t measured your EL??? Are you actively PE’ing or just reading the forum? If you’re PE’ing then you MUST measure your EL to know how much you are gaining!!!

Hah, I measure mine after every session. I know that’s not the best idea either but I can’t help it. I’ve got the tube from a paper towel roll (which is 5.5” in circumference) with 7” marked off on it and I put it next to my post PE erection and try to reach that mark every night.

Magnum, why would measuring be a must for PE? I’ve been PEing a long time, but I rarely or never measure. I don’t need a ruler to tell me if my dick is getting bigger.

And I for one don’t plan on measuring until I estimate that I am at the size I want.

Chicken, Starter hasn’t even measured his EL at all, not beginning OR current. How is a PE’er going to know if he is making progress, and how much progress if he doesn’t measure? Thats like going on a diet and not taking your weight! You’re a senior member on here with almost 2,000 posts, and you have to ask WHY we have to measure??? All I can say is WOW!!!

I measure every 3-4 months now, when I first started maybe every week and than it went to one month. I once went 6 months without taking the ruler out. I measure girth maybe twice a year. Measuring too much can make you nuts because as you progress gains become harder so it becomes very discouraging to measure that often.

I haven’t measured El in years- other than a hash mark on my pump tube- and I only take a BPFSL check once in a blue moon.

It’s kind of like when you first start bodybuilding or weightlifting- you may measure your biceps or try a max single weekly, but at some point is becomes a lifestyle and you end up checking the tape more out of curiosity or only try a max single in competition.

I can understand why one might have a fear association with taking a measurement- this is baseline shit that, right or wrong, can challenge and define how we view ourselves as men.
If you don’t take the measurement,then you don’t have to deal with what that number may or may not mean to you.

Well, I did take a starting EL measurement; it was 6 inches. As the post says, I have made gains in the stretched flaccid department; you figure they would translate to some erect gains. It appears my erect penis is larger than it used to be, and several females have noticed this as well. I will take my erect length measurement when I achieve one more inch in flaccid stretch.

I have not been active in PE since 2004; I was a hit and miss kind of guy back then. Around November of 2007 is when I began jelqing, and then I began stretching around the beginning of the year. Considering the time I’ve been stretching, I’ve made good flaccid gains at least. For me with stretching, more seems to be better; I stretch 6 days out of the week with 15 to 30 minute stretches throughout the day several times a day.

I have gone six or seven months at a time without measuring. Like many here, especially hard gainers, I believe too much measuring can be counterproductive. Besides, I have a couple of nice women in my life who tell me all the time how big it is! :bigwink:

BPFSL is the key indicator and precedes BPEL. I measure my BPFSL daily before every stretch session to see if I need a rest day, based on if i can stretch to my previous highest measurement. I measure my BPEL atleast weeky to measure my progress. This needs to be done to see if you’re making progress or not and if you need more rest days or need to take a decon. I don’t know about anyone else, but I’m not about to waste ANY time, let alone 6 months or longer, to see if I’m getting results.

You’re training to a goal- not as a lifestyle.

Out of curiosity, what is your current goal? Stats?

My goal is the classic 8X6.. And at that point I may go on; who knows.
