Creating the 2-sided Velcro
On the matter of creating the two-sided 10” Velcro band for the Wench, I was wondering how to do it without messing it up. The first associated idea that came to my mind was sticking a label on a CD-ROM, and that there is no way of doing it unless you use that simple device that lets you fix the label pefectly centered on a CD. First, I was thinking of making a device with the same function for our Velcro strips, and then I came up with a more practical idea. I tried it and the result was perfect.
Remove a couple of inches of the paper that covers the sticky side of each Velcro strip. Place one strip on the table, sticky side up, then lay the other strip on top of it with the sticky side down (sticky side to sticky side), making sure that the peeled ends do not touch each other. Align all edges of the two strips together along the length that is still covered with the paper. Let the peeled ends stick to each other. Remove the rest of the protecting paper from one strip and then from the other strip. One of the strips is sitting flat on the table while you hold the free end of the other strip. From the ends that are already stuck together, start pressing the strip you are holding with your fingers against the other strip. Both strips are now perfectly aligned and stuck to each other.
Good luck to all!
