tendons or ligaments?

tendons or ligaments?

Just a question while I was in an upper level biology class last week…

Ligaments join bone to bone.
Tendons join muscle to bone.

Now, aren’t those “ligs” we in PE land refer to actually tendons? The only case I can think of against this is that the tissue is connecting tunica to bone and not muscle to bone. Maybe I am just plain wrong. But the ligs surely aren’t connecting bone to bone.

???

I don’t know about you, but when I pop a boner, i’d say those ligs are connecting bone to bone ;)

Tendons definitely connect muscles to bone. The penis has no tendons. Ligaments can connect bone to bone or can be “supporting structures.” Here is a Google.com search for “dictionary+ligament” which offers several descriptions. Here is Dorland’s Medical Dictionary definition with illustrations.

Westla to the rescue again!

Thanks man, that solves it!
