Surgical Penis Enlargement Mini Forum ~ Penis surgery

Did my pre-op today with Dr R. He seems very open, honest, and experienced. The facility is nice and his “assistant” is very nice too, not to mention she’s cute :-) I’m feeling confident I made the right choice with MD’s. 8am tomorrow…holy shit!

Ok, first day post op: Surgery was a breeze and they provided great customer service with Dr R giving me a ride back to my hotel after the surgery. I’d like to tell you it didn’t hurt last night, but that would be false as I was pretty uncomfortable. However, I’m feeling much better today (still taking the vics) and even went out for sushi and a movie (hid my drain in my pocket). I got to look at my penis today with the wrap off and I have to say I’m really impressed, I mean really impressed. Don’t really want to get my hopes up until I can get an erection but flaccid length is easily an 1 1/2 inch longer. I look at it and I feel hung, because it’s long and fat (still bruised and prob swollen). As soon as I feel a little better, when I get back home tomorrow, I’ll post some pics. I get the drain out tomorrow and fly home with my new unit. Can’t shower for a couple of weeks and no sex for about 4-6 weeks.

Ok soma keep us updated, sent you a private message also!

I am strongly considering girth enhancement surgery only. I have done some research and believe that there are only a few qualified surgeons that will perform any type of PE surgery. I know this is no revelation but I guess what I am saying is that we also need to eliminate the doctors who perform such a procedure but lack the skill/experience and have had in the past some disastrous results. For me personally, I believe Rosenthal and Reed make the most sense. Both are urologists. I have met with Solomon and have to say I wasn’t impressed at all. Solomon is expensive for one. He also asked that I go for a sleep apnea test when I have had surgery before and recently. Also when I tried to explain my unique problem and situation he did not believe me. I am not saying this man isn’t a great surgeon because I believe he is.

What is your unique problem and situation? I’m considering Solomon since he is nearby, but I feel like I would be better off getting it done w/ Rosenthal. Too bad Dr. Whitehead from NYC is no longer in the business.

Just be careful guys. Some, including myself, had disastrous results from Phalloplasty surgery. I was able to go to another doctor to fix the mess I was left with, but it cost tens of thousands of dollars in total and pretty much fucked my life up for 3-4 years.

Also, don’t trust much of what you read online from people posting glowing reviews about any particular doctor. We’ve had a number of people here who were just marketing shills, and I also know of at least one very strong proponent of Phalloplasty here who confessed to me outside of the forum that his “great results” he boasted of here were ficticious.

Excellent point.

I’ve checked out all of the doc’s sites and combined they have done thousands of procedures yet I have yet to read that many reviews on the net. Dr. Reed is a good example. I do not see many posts or websites that have reviewed his penile work. He does post pics but it would be easy to post a few pics of the 20% that were successful. Also, all of the pics are in the flaccid state? Why not erect pictures?

On the other hand, I have found tons of sites of post-op M2F and F2M and the overwhelming feedback (and pictures) I have seen are positive for Dr. Reed.

I want to get the surgery done for girth but I would like to see hard statistics on the success rate.

IMO one thing I have learned is the doc makes a difference. Some docs should not be doing this surgery.

I first checked out Dr Whitehead and felt he would be the right surgeon because I felt he was caring and sincere. His testimonials seemed genuine and I liked his results. Unfortunately he is ill and as a previous posted stated may have cancer. So let us all pray for a quick recovery.

I am going to Miami later this month to meet with Dr Reed. I like the idea that he is a urologist and has a lot of experience. I have met with Dr Heller and didnt love him or dislike him. He lacks experience and is not a urologist like Reed and Rosenthal. He does FFT for like 3000 and just started doing alloderm recently. Reed had never heard of a case in which a person lost a ton of weight and lost girth in the penis. Solomon said this was not possible at all. When I said what about losing muscle mass from the penis do to weight loss he looked at me like I had 3 eyes. Dr heller was the only surgeon who said my condition was possible and believed me without even examining me. He was actually ready to like set me up immediately for surgery. Heller had like a line of people out the door waiting on him for all surgeries. Me too would think Rosenthal would be a good fit but California is far and expensive. Rosenthal is also a urologist. So we will see. Once again I don’t dislike Solomon at all just don’t think he is right for me he seems to big for his britches but that is just my opinion after one meeting face to face. Now he was nice but also brutally honest and did not need me as a patient.

Dr Reed has an email section that asks him Questions. No testimonials on his site but this man has performed sex change operations and all known penis surgery including correction and reconstruction something most plastic surgeons don’t normally do.

what do you think about biodegradable material for penis girth enlargmenth? thanks

Dr Reed and from what I believe all American surgeons known to do pe do not use this method. However, I believe Reed mentions this procedure on his site and isnt against the technique itself. I believe he says that because of alloderm he never needed to look for an alternative method such as biodegradable material or tissue engineering. I also believe he is willingly to perform fft and dermal graft. Whitehead did alloderm only and only a few others are doing just FFt. The surgeon they speak Sava is famous nd respected using tissue eng.

Sava is dead. Tissue engineering is very inconsistent. In theory, it’s by far the best method, as it produces a totally natural looking and feeling result, with no chance of rejection or fibrosis, as with Alloderm. However, many people don’t see any gains at all after the scaffolds have degraded and most less than 1cm. If they could consistently produce gains similar to that of Alloderm, it would be no contest, as tissue engineering is far better than any implant material.
