My question is: why do many seem to have a stretched flacid length significantly longer than their erect length? Are their implications to this as far as growth is concerned? My erect length and flacid stretched length are exactly the same…6.3 inches. Last thing, Can having a very tight skin…absolutely no movement at all when erect, cause a lack of gains because there is no room in the skin for growth?? thanks
Welcome to Thunder’s Soflsun, I think many here have variations on the flaccid stretch versus erect because erections are not always the same hardness and because of the elasticity factor of skin. i.e. it has to stretch sideways when erect so that takes up some tissue. Also, the internal structures of the penis have something to do with it. I measure bpfsl and bpel so that I’ll get it all covered for the next time I do a measuring.
About the tight skin thing, I started about a month ago with a pretty tight fit when erect (circumcised here) and the skin has loosened up when flaccid and erect. I think the skin stretches first for the first few weeks or months and then the internal structures catch up to fit in your skin. That probably has happened to a lot of the guys here. Good luck with the gains.
Sep. 2003: 7" bpel x 5" eg June 2004: 7 & 1/4" bp x 5 & 3/8" eg Jan. 2005: 7.5 x 5.5 Goal: 8x6 "I always knew pe existed but didn't know where to start, until I found Thundersplace."
Welcome to the forum, soflsun!
new_member has it right, the skin should stretch first to make room for internal growth. When I started, my stretched flaccid length was about the same as my erect length. Now it’s about 1/2” longer than my EL. Some guys say it’s an indication of future gains.
My FSL is 10% than my BPEL. I think girth may have something to do with it. I suspect that a thicker penis *might* stretch more while flaccid, whereas a thinner penis is probably more similar with FSL & BPEL.
I think it also has something to do with how hard you pull. If I pull gently until I reach the first natural sticking point, bpel and fsel are about the same, but if I exert practically everything I’ve got, as if I’m trying to rip my dick off, and dig the ruler in very hard, I can stretch an extra inch.
I think that if we all used a standardized fs measuring device that exerted a uniform amount pulling pressure each time, there would be a lot less variation reported.

Thanks for the replies everyone. Just a note however, my erect girth is about 6.1 so I do not believe, at least in my case, that having a fatter penis will allow more flacid stretched length. I believe very tight skin is my limiting factor. I’ve only been at it for about 6 weeks, 30 minutes manual stretching…lot of 7:30 and erection angle of 10:00, and 25 minutes of jelq and girth work. No gains to speak of yet…i hope i’m not going to be one of those guys that don’t gain. thanks again
Just noticed ...
I also just noticed this recently. Flaccid stretched was always the same as erect length but now flaccid is almost 3/4 on an inch longer than erect. I have put on a bit of girth in that time though. I am looking forward to filling the difference in :D
The difference isn’t constant for most as you can see. I don’t have any good theories on why it varies, but some of the difference could be that your glans can be stretched depending on how you hold your penis.
The difference for me has been 3/4” but the last few days it might have even gotten bigger. I hope this means BPEL gains as well.
I had never measured BPFSL before, and was surprised this weekend to find it was easily 7.5”, just a little over: I’d really like that to mean something in terms of gain potential (I’m currently somewhere between 5.5 and 5.7” NBPEL, depending on strength of erection), but there doesn’t seem to be any consistency as far as it being an indicator when you glance over the database. Then again, I’m not doing a serious statistical inquiry by just glancing it over…

My erect length is slowly lurching towards my stretched flaccid 8”. I hope this doesn’t mean that I’ll stop gaining at 8”!
I don’t think ‘maximum’ is the right word to use. Reason being, my BPFSL has increased nearly 1.25” since I started PE.
It’s just an interesting concept. At what point does erect length grow and at what point does flacid stretched length grow. There has to be some sort of connection, or they would both grow equally at the same time. As i have said mine are both equal at 6.25 NBPL girth 6.1, my girth doesn’t give me any extra on the stretch. What gives, am i maxed out without ever gaining any??
One foot down...one to go
You’re lucky to start with such great girth! I don’t think you’re maxed out at all, but your added girth may make it more difficult to stretch (more tissue). Perhaps you should try hanging if you run into problems. Otherwise, just follow the beginner guide and see how it goes.
