Kinsey would be very proud. Just watched the film last night btw. Not much in there that would help this surveys specifics, but he apparently had a lot of focus on the body language between the interviewer/interviewee in order to determine whether the data collected was valuable or embroidered. Not sure how to replicate that online though.

So what, someone is already screwing with the survey? I think before any time is put into this project we need to think a little more about security. This is the thing I don’t understand about the wiki. If anyone can edit at will, what is there to stop a person from sabotaging the results or at least making things difficult. Seems to me we should be able to add to the survey, but not remove anything without the aid of a mod.

To be honest, I think it was more of an accident. I don’t think anyone will be tampering with the results — it would be useless, and probably near impossible considering the results won’t be up for people to change… But nonetheless, maybe we should think a little bit about security. T probably has the best ideas, he keeps this place underwraps well.

pgt7787 sent me some of his ideas and thoughts via PM. I think his input was to good to keep hidden from you guys. His comments are in the qoutes, with my replies underneath the quotes.

A good idea, I suggest doing this in the next phase of the orgazational phase — once we already know what we will be “requestioning.”

I love this. If I would have had this type of software for this first survey then I would have been able to make use of the last 10 questions.

Perhaps “Supplements” is a beter starting point, with a view to investigating the ingredients of any PE pill, rather than the specific brand. We need to know if any supplement is of benefit. The same is true of diet and general health/exercise I suppose, but that would be getting very complicated.

I agree. When I created the first survey I did’nt know much about supplements…. I think we have to figure out the link between the two, and find the truth behind supplements.

No doubt that you are right again. This should be brought to everyone’s attention now — before 500 people help build the survey ;)

Considering what I’ve read about this - supplements giving results by making buyer more diligent with his training and not by actual properties of supplement as such - it would be good to try to get clarity in how diligent those are that take supplements. If they were sloppy before starting to take supplements and if that has changed since they started paying for pills etc.

Taped onto the dashboard of a car at a junkyard, I once found the following: "Good judgement comes from experience. Experience comes from bad judgement." The car was crashed.

Primary goal: To have an EQ above average (i.e. streetsmart, compassionate about life and happy) Secondary goal: to make an anagram of my signature denoting how I feel about my gains

OK, mem has been at the layout of this survey section and make some changes. The link to the survey area is on the Main page toward the bottom. I found your questions remek and put them on the new page. We really need to start using the discussion page AND the spell checker.

Yeah remek, sorry I moved some stuff around after the request in talk and updated all the links in the first post of this thread.

I didn’t notice the questions, it’s good that they are all in the discussion page, there’s already a link to that in the first post of this thread.

>This is the thing I don’t understand about the wiki. If anyone can edit at will, what is there to stop a person from sabotaging the results or at least making things difficult.<

Only members can edit the wiki. When an edit is made their finger prints are all over it in this page . If necessary it’s a simple matter to edit out abuse. The wiki is a good place for building something like this but you can’t run a survey on it.

No problem memento. I see you touched it up a bit — it looks great.

Update: it is coming along nicely, questions we want answers to are being added.

mgus, para, xeno, and a few others have added some input. Keep it up gentlemen. I will be thinking of some more questions today.

An uncomplete idea for “questions we want answers to:”

I have been thinking of something along the lines of plateaus. This might be to advanced for a survey, but something along the lines of why plateaus happen, when they usually happen, and is there a correlation with plateaus and something else (such as many hours spent on a PE session).

Additionally, I have been thinking of something along the lines of injuries. Injuries do happen, and although they aren’t common I guess 25 percent of the people who PE experience an injury — maybe even more. I wonder: when do they happen, why they usually happen, what types of injuries are the most common, and is there a correlation with injuries and something else (such as taking supplements).

I haven’t fully thought these two points out yet. If anyone has some input on these two ideas, post them here.

Only 5-7 (approximately) more days until we start designing the questions.

I had a busy weekend. I have been unable to update anything, but it seems quite a few of you had great input. Keep up the goodwork.

Hey Remek, thanks for all the work on this project. It’s certainly an important one.

Here is a link to help improve test validity. It offers some solid guidelines for item creation in survey research.

The two most important sections to look at are: Item Creation and Design, and Eight Questions to Ask About Each Survey Question.

Following these guidelines will help to eliminate discrepancies and participant confusion about the items.

Very good information doubles. We will definitely be implementing most of their recommendations. Thank you.
