Q4L's 3 Year PE Anniversary - Still no gains to report

I think you should hang it up and get a new hobby, it just ain’t working for you Joe Peshi :(

I feel your pain. I began my PE journey when I stumbled across Tom Hubbard’s site sometime in the late nineties. And, like you I spent several years trying different techniques to no avail. Then, about this time last year I decided to give it one more chance.

After reading through all your routines I’ve noticed some common elements that may be your problem. To me, all of your routines are very light in intensity, include rest days and are not very focused. I know that for myself I would never gain from any of your routines. My first half inch came from following DLD’s newbie routine (minus the jelking) two or more times a day - every day. And, the second half inch was the result of following a hanging routine attempting to replicate the intensity and frequency that Bib had followed. I hung about an hour in the AM and another in the PM with intense manuals spread throughout the day, no rest days, no jelqing, just my entire being focused entirely on length.

It’s been my experience that nothing of any value in life comes easy or without significant sacrifice, and that applies to PE. You have to really want it and be able to sacrifice an enormous amount of time and energy in order to get it. For me it didn’t come easy.

Maybe its time to let go of everything you thought you knew about PE and start fresh with a more intensely focused approach.

I would take a 3 month decon break, and come back hanging 6x20 min sets a day along with some light dry jelqs between sets. Use the bib hanger so you can hit your limiting factors. The RSDT fulcrum is an easy way to hit the septum.

I’ve found PGE-1 is a very good way to reach fatigue easier. I’m very, very busy, so I do PGE-1 injections 4 times a week, and maybe average 30 minutes-1 hour hanging a day. It takes only 30 minutes or so out of my schedule a day, because I’m able to multitask. You said you weren’t ready for chem PE, though.

And forget rest days. If ligs are your limiting factor in gains, then every rest day will set you back 3 days of stretching.

Thanks for your suggestions guys. I appreciate it.

Go for the surgery, dude. It’s gotten quite cheap… check out Rachmunas4Life’s progress.

Also, after having some girth work done and maybe a length procedure, you may also find gaining via PE a hell of a lot easier.

quik, I’m kind of in a hurry right now, but I will get back to you in more detail (hopefully soon).

But a few quick items:

(1) You’ve listed your BPFSL - but what is your FL?
(2) For somebody who has PE’d for 3 years, your routines just don’t seem to be “enough.” While your jelqing is so-so, your stretch times are way low. I remember when I was desperate for some length, I was stretching 7 days per week. And, I was logging some serious TUL (Time Under Load) - probably no less than 30 mintues per day, sometimes 40, etc. That’s a cumulative of 210-250 minutes per week (vs your typical 40-50 minutes per week…for somebody with 3 years down, that’s not nearly enough).

Sorry for the delay, but let me get back to you soon.

I spent over a year trying to get some length gains using various routines, techniques, etc. I got no length gains at all. It wasn’t until I tried long sessions (1-3 hours) and little rest between the sessions (24 hours tops) that I finally gained some more. In my case, I was stuck with routines that simply wasn’t enough and it was only when I stepped it up and got wise that I gained again. That’s how I broke my plateau.

Yup, dicko and wad are right on with this one. Some people aren’t like kevin12 and chrono who make these low intensity minimal workout gains.

I’m basically in agreement that q4 should probably try to bounce it way up in intensity.

Spaghetti is right in that not everyone can gain from seemingly ridiculously low intensity. I am probably way off, but from reading this forum, it seems like not that many have tried it. The J123 thread seems to have had some takers, but I can’t really tell how many have given it an honest try. (But what in the hell do I know compared to some of the guys posting on this thread? I mean it, I have a ton of respect for these guys.)

By ridiculously low, I mean 50-100 jelqs per session, every day as planned, days off as needed. It seems that many go for “less is more” by going to “only” 200 per session.

There also seems to be the possibility that this 50-100 intensity level only works for some when coming off a period of higher intensity, kind of like the “P” and “R” in IPR. Or for some after a decon break or both.

The problem with 50-100 jelqs, or less than 200 for that matter, is that it doesn’t make sense. “How in the hell can THAT work?”

I am starting to think, and this is just a 6 month new guy’s opinion, that if the 50-100 jelqs idea is going to work for you, and you are currently doing PE, that it will show some results in 2-4 weeks. If it doesn’t, all you have lost is 2-4 weeks.

That’s my 2 cents worth. I hope it is worth more than that, but it may not be worth anything.

Thanks chronostone.

I’ve been reading posts by you, kingpole, braindrain and kevin12 regarding less intense routines. There is a lot of valuable information in those threads, but just as you’ve said, not every suits low intensity routines.

When forming my routine for my return, I will keep your suggestions in mind.

Also, have you tried long time less pressure clamping? I believe it was a thread discussed between Dog and sparky. I am going to do that approach when my air clamp gets here.
