Propecia and its affects on PE

123

As some may know (I also corresponded with some of you about Propecia via PM) I am on Propecia since 4 to 5 years now. I wasn’t satisfied with minoxidil at all, especially the messy topical application two times a day, which even becomes worthless when staying at the beach and being in the water all the time is impractical. 4 weeks of surfing destroys all you (hopefully) grow during the whole year. This is just ancient shit and really annoying. Just taking a pill is the solution for our times - and many of you would do mess with hormones or pro hormones if they could really grow a bigger dick, so don’t be hypocrite regarding hair freaks!

Regarding the PE aspect, I am happy that peforeal was able to give really encouraging results here. You can read my gains in the Data Page, which aren’t really overwhelming, but this is more due to my very weak regime (4 to 5 days per week jelqing (just 100 to 150 reps = less than 15 min) and occasional manual stretching (very seldom)).

To address the weighting of the wish to have hair and to have a big dick. With a dick of 7.7” x 5.8” right now I would not decide to go bald just to break the 8” mark.

Oh, I almost forgot to mention: sex drive OK over here ;)

...not buried yet, another 5" ahead!

Since the discovery of the 5aR deficiency, much has been learned about this enzyme system. The 5aR enzyme is a membrane bound NADPH dependent protein which metabolizes testosterone to DHT within androgen dependent target cells which then binds to the androgen receptor with greater affinity than testosterone. This metabolic step results in an amplification of androgen action leading to increased activation of androgen response elements within the genome of androgen dependent cells. In the rat, 5aR appears to be controlled by a feed-forward mechanism mediated by DHT levels which induces 5aR enzyme activity and 5aR mRNA expression. Recently, two isoenzymes of 5aR have been characterized, cloned and localized in human tissues. The gene for the type 1 isozyme (5aR-1) has been localized to the short arm of chromosome 5 and is found in highest concentrations in skin and liver. The gene for the type 2 isozyme (5aR-2) has been localized to the short arm of chromosome 2 and is found in highest concentrations in liver and genital tissue including the prostate.

The human SRD5A2)5A2 gene encodes for the type 2 5aR enzyme. African-American men appear to have a unique family of 121-131 bp alleles not found in men with lower life time risk of prostate cancer such as Asian-Americans and Non-Hispanic whites. In another report, the 5aR activity in Japanese men was found to be lower than in white or African-American men. Thus expression of various allelic forms of the gene or activity of the 5aR enzyme may contribute to differences in lifetime risk for prostate cancer.

This may be the reason for the difference. Type 2 is blocked by FIn. Levels of type 1 do not change from fin. Dutasteride I believe blocks both.

If someone is going to tell me that there penile structure is the same with and without the androgen DHT then they are misinformed. The evidence is there. There isnt a closed environment here and there are other factors that should be considered.

Success rates differ from drug to drug as far as hair loss is concerned. In a perfect world, all would respond to propecia but in reality only 42% - 66% do. Its only 10% - 35% for ROGAINE. This could be the same thing PE. But, I will tell you that the more it blocks 5ar and thus lowering DHT then the higher the level of non responding individuals to PE.

The connection has been made, individual experienced may differ.

L born XXL buried,

it´s not about telling people what to do or not to do, so you can relax on the D. Like I´ve said I´m on dutasteride atm and have been on fin for several years and I have a personal interest in gathering information on the subject and that´s what I´m trying to do, and my impression is that Cya at 8 is trying to do the same thing.

The original topic was about wheter or not finasteride was good, bad or neutral for PE, the answer IS that if anything it´s bad, which in turn doesn´t have to mean that every individual on fin is going to perform horribly on the PE or sex front but it´s more than likely that any effect will be negative.

If you´re fine with that, then there´s no problem for you, if you´re not OK with it, then it´s good to have been informed and been able to weight pros and cons.

As much as I appreciate anecdots I prefer studies.
