Hi all,

I was measuring last night and noticed some interesting things. Mainly, my BPSFL number varied by over 1/2” depending on whether I was bending forwards or had my back flat and chest out. The number decreases when my back is flat. I measure standing up.

This seems to say to me that when my back is flat, my abs stretch upwards and the ligs are pulled back a bit from when I am bent forward. So I am wondering if anyone thinks this means I have an extra 1/2” of lig gain potential or not.

All my lig work has been done bent over or sitting so I am strongly considering adding some hanging that I can do standing straight up with my back flat and chest out to really get that lig stretch going. Thoughts?

Slack- I’m going to add this into my current routine starting tonight. I’m going to use an IR heat/bungee cord/wench combo to hit it up. Since the variation in BPSFL is so obvious when I flatten my back I think it will be pretty easy to see if I am making any progress. The real question is- Even if I successfully lengthen the ligs in that area will the added length show up in other positions such as seated BPSFL or will it only be evident in my standing BPSFL measurement.

C’mon fellas I can’t be the only one with this! I’d be interested in anyone else’s numbers. Just get your usual BPSFL number (while standing) and then lock your knees and straighten your back without releasing your penis or the ruler. Let me know if you see a marked decrease or not!

I’ve definitely noticed the same thing too. I didn’t draw any conclusions from it though. I think I’ll be a guinea pig for stretching with my back straight. I’ll give an update in a week or so.

But if you’re standing, you pretty much can’t do anything else while hanging can you? I just don’t see it myself.

That’s one of the draws of hanging for me. I can put it on, set my timer to 10 minutes, and surf the net or something. My desk is too low to do that while standing… Hey wait a minute *looks over my shoulder* YEAH, there IS a PS2 there! I could play videogames and hang!

The origins of the penis are the ischiopubic rami (the loop-shaped part of the pelvis that you sit on). The CCs split into two crura, which individually anchor like tendons into the left and right rami.

Postures that tilt your hips back (like thrusting out) move the origin of the penis further forward, causing you to measure greater length. Postures that tilt your hips forward (like pulling back) move the origin back and reduce your measurement.

This is why it is so important always to measure in the same position. I guarantee your BPEL will be different standing versus sitting. It’s all in the angle of the pelvis.

But is having the origin of the penis forward beneficial to gains when hanging is the question…

It’s either; Hanging is hanging, whether you sit or stand makes no difference

OR; Hanging while standing stretches the penis more than sitting, or possibly vice-versa.

If you bring LOT into things, with my low LOT I should probably tie a rope to the cieling and hang my dick by it :D . Or just toss a weight over my shoulder on a piece of string. Unfortunately for me I can’t set up a pulley overhead without being obvious, and I’m afraid of literally hanging OTS (Over-The-Shoulder… right?) because if I screw up those weights are going to come clanging to the floor, and I get the fun of explaining the noise when I’m usually so quiet. Or my shoulder will get rope-burn.

So now after typing all that, I’m actually not going to try it standing. My desk has a hook I put in it, that allows me to do the SO (Straight-Out) angle, which is the highest angle I can get for my low LOT, at least in this situation.

Actually, if I sat on the floor under my desk, I could get straight up with the hook right over my penis… And hey, if I turn around I can see the PS2 and TV attached to it.

Man the ideas are really coming today! :D

Oh. Sorry.

Answer: I doubt it. It seems to me that changing the tilt of the pelvis while hanging is equivalent to changing the hanging angle. It’s all about the relative geometry of the shaft, ligs, and weight. Thrusting the pelvis forward is, I think, about the same thing as lowering the hanging angle. It’s like changing an SD hang into a slight BTC.

To update you on my continuing search for an OTS hang, I’m sorry to report failure again. :(

My desk is too low to sit under comfortably, and if I lean back I’m just getting SO, which I get already.

I just realized, however, I could hang in the closet, standing under the bar… *goes to check* ok, I could do that, but I’d be staring at my clothes for 10 minutes at a time… I’d rather hang SO
