I was wondering about plateauing. I am not plateauing yet, and I hope I don’t, but I wanted to ask some about their experiences. I know there are several exercises to help you get past the plateau and I’m sure it varies from person to person, but how long did it take you to start gaining again and what exercise do you feel got you past the plateau?

When you were no longer gaining, was it affecting your motivation? If so, what did you do to stay motivated?

What type of exercises were you doing when you stopped gaining? What was your routine? How did it change after you started gaining again?

It hit a plateau on length gains a couple of times. I just quick growing despite increasing the weight while hanging. I took a month or so off both times. Both times I started growing as soon as I came back. I continued to clamp some through the decon break. Yes, I lost a little motivation and I just continued to read and PM some of the members. I have never had a girth plateau. I think if you slowly move up in weight/time, you might can avoid hitting a long plateau like I experienced. That is just one theory out there.

I take a 1 or 2 months off. When I restarted I went at half the time and intensity and I got back anything I lost rather quickly (took a month) and ended up gaining more.


Obsession is a word used by the lazy to describe the dedicated.

I hit a length plateau in Febuary, length started moving again when I switched to Girthwork.

After girthwork stopped gaining, I switched back to length.

Length has stopped again, so considering switching back to girth.

I figure if you hit a plateau, you should change your PE routine, no?

THere are a couple of ideas towards how to bust through a plateau. Changing your routine is an option. Also a decon break is another.
