Penis Size: The True Average

I’m right there with you. Even though, statistically, I have nothing to complain about, I still feel small.

Start: (Aug 2001): 6 1/2 bpel x 4 7/8 mseg

Current: (6/24/14): 7 3/4 bpel (7 nbp) x 5 5/8 mseg. BEG 6 1/4. BPFSL 8 1/8.

Goals: First: 7 1/2 bpel x 5 1/2 mseg ACHIEVED! Current Goal: 7 nbp x 5 3/4 mseg (almost there!)

Back when I started PE (and a couple years before officially joining the site), my BPEL was just under 5.75” and EG was around 4.5”. Now BPEL is at roughly 7.25 and EG is 5 according to the measurements.

My penis still looks under six to me. It still looks skinny. I know it isn’t. I can see the change when the ruler and tape are in hand. I can “see” the increase but I cannot accept the increase visually.

In my head I am still below average. It is why this thread appeals to me.. The belief in my head, despite the reality of measurement, still needs to know, check, and confirm that I am in the average range.

Man, you gained 1.5” BPEL in length and went from average to ABOVE-AVERAGE.. and still feel small?

Don’t be.

I think the “above-average” guys (meaning 7”+ BPEL) feeling small (or smaller) is quite an interesting observation on this forum.

I think if the above-average guy has seen enough penises in person, he would probably not feel so small. This comparison with guys and porn stars over Internet and porn is very perceptual misleading.

Although I am convinced that there are more 7”+ in reality than what the stats are saying. Perhaps I was just lucky? LOL

(starting: Jun 2007) 5.75" BPEL x 5" EG / (Sept 11, 2011) 6.375" BPEL x 5.125" EG / (July 1st, 2014) 6.25" BPEL x 5.125" EG (lost a bit of size)

Yikes- Sorry. I made a typing mistake- not 7.25 BPEL- 6.25. A bit of wishful thinking clouding the ability to check the edit?

I vote for that. I did not mean to be misleading.

Q

I’m just posting this here:

http://www.thelocal.fr/1549/20111024/#

A new French size study which is supposed to counteract size hysteria, it seems. The length is the standard 5.x”, but what caught my attention was the girth result, which is 10 and 10.5 centimetres / 3.9 to 4.1 inches. That’s an inch smaller than other girth averages I’ve seen.

No mention of methodology, sample size etc. Maybe it can be tracked down somewhere else.

Is that a study, actually? It seems more an educated opinion.

You’re right, it doesn’t actually say that it’s a study, that they measured a bunch of guys etc. Guess I read something into it that wasn’t really there.

Here’s a French article on the same thing:

http://www.francesoir.fr/actualite/…nne-149402.html

In this one it does say “study” (étude), and “results”. I’m not sure what it means..

This article says more or less the same thing as the other link.
It says study and results, but there is no info on methodology or anything, so it might be a people pleaser.

I looked around a bit and couldn’t find more info either.

This is it exactly. Yet another study (or a casual report on a study) that uses the word “average” without defining it. By “average”, are we talking about the mean or the median? They’re not necessarily the same thing, and almost certainly won’t be the same when you’re talking about something like penis size, where there’s more room for variation at the top end of the scale than at the bottom. In other words, a few very large dicks can skew the mean so it’s above the median, while a dick can only be so small without it ceasing to exist at all.

In fact, that “Mr. Average” page points out that the Lifestyles condom survey did indeed produce a mean measurement that was a fraction of an inch above the median for both length and girth. So, if by “average” we mean “mean”, more than half of all men have a below-average-sized penis.

Not to mention racial differences in terms of “average” can be misleading. For example, a study done in France has very little implication on average penis size in another region, say Japanese.

Very good point. When people post here from the US or Europe and talk about the “average” size, they should be aware that the average in their country might well be a bit larger than the global average, whatever that is. More than half the world’s population lives in Asia, after all.

To make things more complicated, average size in US is even more misleading as US has the most cross-culture mix of individuals: different mix of whites, different mix of blacks, interracial-mix of white/black, Hispanics, interracial Hispanics/blacks… the list goes on and on.

Really, besides the Asia Pacific regions like China, Taiwan, Japan and Korea (and India for most parts), most other regions have prevalent interracial genes mix.

Why not? I’ve never seen any credible evidence that differences across countries is particularly significant. It seems to be as much a canard of penis size as the existence of 13-inch penises.

This might be better posted on it’s own thread, but since I can’t start threads, this seemed to be the most appropriate place. If there is somewhere else it might be, then please move it.

The opinions of the female posters on the following thread about sex with large penises are perhaps something we should all bear in mind. By all means continue PE-ing if that’s what you want to do, but please consider the possible consequences of going too far and be aware that many of you are possibly bigger than you think.

Given the numbers who claim to have experienced problems with large penises, combined with women’s infamous ability to wildly exaggerate size (I’m sure I’m not the only 8+ BPEL here to have been told they’re 10 or 11”) and what we know about the normal distribution of penis size, I suspect that the general problem size was lower than many members of forums such as these and the increasingly ridiculous LPSG might expect.

Perhaps those who are average, or a little over average, but who due to the pernicious and ubiquitous porn tricks and internet myths believe they’re small, might take some reassurance from the comments.

Durex actually started making smaller condoms for the Indian market because the rate of slippage (due to condoms being too big) was abnormally high there. I don’t think they did this because they’re nasty racists with a thing about belittling Indian men - they just want to provide a reliable product that people will buy and use.

People from different parts of the world look different in all sorts of ways - not just skin colour, hair and facial features but height, build, muscle distribution and so on. Look at black women’s bottoms next to white women’s. Compare Chinese noses to Arab noses. People from different regions have different bodies - why shouldn’t this include penises?

And to put it bluntly: if there’s no correlation between race and penis size, where is the Japanese Mandingo? Where is the Thai Lexi* Steele?

*Sorry, the stupid auto-corrector won’t let me have ‘L-e-x’ - is there a way to turn this off? Or does it go way once you’ve made a certain number of posts?
