Interested in knowing how often everyone measures and why they chose a certain time length.

Dino-Thanks for the reply. I went 4 months the first time and am going to measure after 2 months this time - which will be in just a few days. I have noticed that some members measure quite often. CL

I measure 1st day of the month. Nothing in between.

Start 2/1/03 FBP: L: 3.25", G:3.00" EBP: L: 5.85", G:4.25" 7/7/03 FBP: L: 5.50", G:5.25" EBP: L: 7.00", G:5.25"

I’m getting out of the habit of measuring a lot. I will wait about 2 weeks in between now, just to be sure, and will up it to the first of every month some day in the future. If I’m going to do this for years, then I can’t be measuring every day like I was a while back!

This sounds crazy but there is a method to my madness. I measure daily. Every morning pre-workout. I like being able to track my gains or lack there of to the day. I usually only see changes weekly but if I go too long without change I know I should modify my workouts. It helps me determine the best possible workouts and what is working and what is not.

One other thing I think this style of measuring does for me is get me in the mode to expect gains weekly or monthly instead of every 6 months. I see it as another form of visualization.

Erect measurements, I do every few months.

Stretched, I do every couple days. Its just alot easier to keep track of.

I had noticed in another thread that DLD [like he confirmed here] measured daily. None of us want to waste time with something that isn’t working but I imagine if you are a slow gainer constant measuring could be frustrating.

Kind of a dilema. Anyone have the answer?

DLD believes, and he’s getting somewhere. I don’t think visualisation does a lot to make you grow, but I can see how it can help in the long run.

This is so important. I tell all the guys that I mentor not to wish for gains but to expect them. When they do gain I tell them to be proud but not to settle. Using the pride of growth and the affirmation it brings is the best motivation to new gains. Belief does not stand alone it is only a tool to benefit the physical commitment.

Iv become obsessed with measuring, i measure girth every day or every other day but at least 3 times a week, easy.Okay maybe not obsessed but still too often and i think this is what leads to being discouraged.Im ready to make some decent girth gains now, im going to right down my stats and not measure for a month, its not going to be easy but im determined to do it.

Being quite new to pe, I’ve been measuring a lot. I think basically just to reassure myself that it’s not just my imagination making me think its bigger.

Now I can see that pe does work, I’m just going to measure at the start of each month. I’m also taking pictures at the the start of each month (taken at same angle & position with measure). After 3 months or so, I’ll post the pics on this site side-by-side to try and give a accurate picture of my progress.

As far as picture taking frequency goes, I don’t think any gains will be noticible if I took them any more frequently, and with regards to measurement, I don’t want my pe’ing confidence ruined by only seeing tiny increases that would come from being obsessive with the ruler.

I measure quite frequently, perhaps more than I should as CL mentioned above and for the fact I am a slow gainer, but for me is all part of consistenty. If I see a small ‘gain’ one day with a especailly hard erection, I will make sure that sets in and measures the same on more ocassions before I will consider it a true gain - I sure many of you know what I am referring to!


I think there is a very fine line between obsessive measuring and constructive measuring. There is a difference and those who measure often know this difference. I find daily measuring to be very helpful in determining if a workout is producing gains. There is a turning point when the measuring becomes obsessive and it is only done to satisfy a fear or negative thought. This is where measuring becomes negative.
