Observations, and tips.
I have been doing PE for 4 months now and I don’t consider myself an expert but I would like to
offer a few observations. The main of my routine has been the jelq, supplemented by manual stretches.
I started out with perhaps 5 min total of stretches and 10 min of medium jelqs (3 sec strokes - about 200). I worked up to 40 min (800 strokes) but have reduced to 30 min because girth
gains were coming on a little faster than I would like and feared that too much girth may slow down or prevent reaching length goals.
I started out with 6.125” stretched length bp (5.875 erect) and 4.875” girth (estimated) I have gotten to 7.563bps (7.250bpe) and 5.375 girth.
In regards to jelqing I have the impression that unless you are inducing at least some red dots/
discoloration you are not doing the excercise firmly enough and your gains will be slow or none at all. I realize that there may be a risk of thrombosis or bruised nerve but I have not yet gotten any of these and I think that a person using common sense and prudence will not likely
experience them. It seems to me that warming down after a good session is important for preventing injury like thrombosis.
In regards to manual stretches, I am begininng to think that I didn’t give this exercise enough
credit as a length gaining strategy. Has anybody been able to determine how many lbs of force
one is able to safely apply? My guess is about 12 lbs before slippage/pinching occurs. The main difficulty I have had with this excercise is getting a good grip to avoid pinching/slippage, I
have discovered that using a latex exam glove on the gripping hand is what works best, much better than talcum powder alone. I have not tried any mechanical stretcher or hanging but have toyed with the idea of using a swimcap to use as a part of a mechanical stretcher perhaps for short (5 min) intense stretches). It seems to me that it is more important to warm up before stretches to soften the tissue and to prevent injury (such as a tear of a ligament or “tendon”)
As for hanging, I might try this if needed to break a plateau in the future but for now I the time and privacy necessary for this activity.
