This wasn’t generalize advice…ALL guys with no morning wood should get a physical…nothing like that at all.

This was personal suggestion to one young man with a grouping of symptoms that indicate the POSSIBILITY of a more serious underlying cause. I gave him advice I would give my son or any friend with that cluster of symptoms…go get a check up.

Where someone’s health is concerned, I think its better to err on the side of playing it safe…don’t you agree?

I’m 20 and I’ve had pretty much infrequent morning wood since I hit puberty. I remember getting it a bit more when I was like under 13.

According to the goaskalice.com website: “Morning erections are technically nighttime erections which happen during Rapid Eye Movement (REM) sleep (when most dreaming occurs), although men older than sixty years may have them during even non-REM sleep. Generally, we experience four intervals of REM sleep per night. These spontaneous woodies in the wee hours are caused by specific neuroreflexes that are stimulated during REM sleep.”

I remember reading that a lack of morning wood can often be a sign of erectile dysfunction. Hopefully not a sign of impending erectile dysfunction, but I can’t be sure. Whoop, here we go:

Going back to my problems - I don’t think I frequently get into a state of deep dreaming sleep - I don’t recall dreaming very often at all. I think when I do dream, I do wake up with morning wood. I also smoke a fair bit of pot which doesn’t help (dreams especially, but probably erections too!)..

I would say that your problems with morning wood are more psychological than anything else, as I would say so for mine (I hope so!). If your physically healthy and don’t really have any trouble gaining erections when you need them then I don’t really see it as a huge problem. Then again - you are on a PE website and I would say that any strenuous work you do to yourself could possibly have further implications with erectile function - especially if your damaging it..

Ah well - thank god for Viagra huh! Impotency kinda seems like a non-event these days lol.

Not necessarily. I don’t get morning wood much in the sense I rarely wake up with a woody. But often times I get them in the middle of the morning randomly or from just a single thought. I link it to my intake of simple carbs in the morning where as the remainder of the day is very hi GI foods like brown rice and oatmeal.

Free test can be effected by carb intake. Furthermore serotonin which can also effect sexual pleasure and erections also can increased with carb intake. Certain medications may lower cholesterol to much which is a primary ingredient for testosterone production.

Try taking ZMA, eating a diet with more carbs, eating a couple whole eggs before sleep, and excercising. If you do all of these and still struggle, then you may have testosterone issues that natural means can’t remedy. In this case you would first want to have the Doc analyze your medications. If you aren’t on any meds that would effect it I would first try a natural test booster like Diesel Test, if that doesn’t work try an AI like Atd or armidex, if that doesn’t work you will most likely need HRT.

Ok, morning wood was actually something I kind of wondered about as well. I’m very young (18 years old) and I rarely have morning wood. I kind of wake up with like partial erection rather than anything intense. However, it’s not that I CAN’T get morning wood, it’s more that it just doesn’t happen so much. I remember one random time I woke up with an extremely strong erection (I was kind of like “Where’d this come from?” since it’s rare) but I think that shows that I can get them.. Maybe I just wake up after they are starting to go away? I do think that I masturbate quite a bit though, so maybe that has something to do with it? Maybe I’ll try not doing it for a couple of weeks or something and see what happens.

If you can stand it, you might try abstaining for a while and see if your morning wood behavior changes—probably you’ll begin to see some pretty furious boners showing up. Most likely you’re getting plenty of strong erections while sleeping. When night wood disappears it’s a good idea to get to a physician for a work-up.

If your EQ DECREASES during a break, it tends to indicate that you WEREN’T over training.

If you are suggesting a guy with ED should visit a doctor for that issue, then yes, I agree. However, 1/3 of cases of ED are psychological related to fatigue, stress or excessive alcohol consumption, smoking, etc. As regards physical factors, diabetes, medication taken, thyroid or kidney problems are more likely although high blood pressure is a potential issue, but that should be picked-up at a normal check-up.

The primary assessment of CV risk would be related to age, lifestyle I.e. Diet, smoking, exercise, family history, BP and so forth.

Walk into a cardiologist and say I have ED at 28 is it likely to be the onset of atherosclerosis!

Don’t get me wrong, I’m all for having a medical check-up. Here in the UK local chemists will do BP, diabetes, HR etc checks for free, people should know their bodies. But worrying a guy at 28 without morning wood he should look for CV disease is a complete over-reaction and not responsible.

Yes ED could be CV related, but me feeling sick could be my kidneys failing and leading to death, is it likely?

Trust me, if the body has a serious issue it lets you know.

However, I would say anyone living unhealthy should be aware of CV. But if a guy of 28 is generally healthy, CV disease shouldn’t be a worry for him.

Pre diabetes which is hard to detect is a concern and a cause of ED.
Hypothyroid disease which may not show up m blood test is a culprit, may be the case here.
Raynauds disase and poor circulation is another.
Anemia even slight anemia a high consideration.
Estrogenic compounds, beer,diuretics.
Stress.

However I do agree not having a morning wood may just be due to aging issues. But I’m not to sure about this. Lack of morning wood could be due to nutritional deficiencies. Not enough calories, bad absortion from the intestinal trac. Deficiencies in chromium,magnesium,vitamin “E”. “C” zinc and protein.

Hey guys, I m doing jelqing since one week now (10 min every day, I did it 6 times until now).

My erections are already better, the sides of my unit feel like steel when masturbating. When watching a porn I only have to touch my dick with my fingertip and it gets hard in almost 3 seconds. I also last longer while masturbation. I can go again for 20 min without cumming and no loss of erection.

There is only one thing that cancers me. I didn’t get increased nite and morning wood yet. I remember when I was on a PE routine 2 years ago, I had incredible hard morning woods, it felt like my penis would explode.

I have morning wood but my penis is only semi hard.

EQ is just that, Erectile Quality. That includes, frequency, duration, ease of erection, hardness, nite and morning wood.

Nite and morning wood are just TWO aspects of the totally. Improved EQ means one or more or all of the catagories are improving.

So, if nite and morning wood doesn’t change, yet you are getting much easier wood, harder wood, longer lasting wood, that is a DEFINITE improvement of EQ.

I guess some guys may not see improvement of nite or morning wood at all, yet if the other catagories are improving…it is definitely improved EQ.
