Logic behind hanging

I feel you commander. I have been stretching more often than usual and right below my head there is slight pain and tingling throughout the day. Be that as it may, but how is hanging any different in this respect. When you hang the clamp hits the head too.

Hangers grip below the head, Soon, on the shaft. Some of the weight presses down against compressed skin rolled up toward the glans, but the glans itself really isn’t being pulled on. Also, good hangers do not put any pressure on the dorsal nerve area.

So far I got that hanging is less of a hassle and safer. I give you that it is less of a hassle but the idea that hanging a weight off your hero rather than pulling on it is safer, I can’t fathom.

Also I see many guys say when they feel they have streched their hero as much as possible with manual stretching that they move onto hanging. This doesn’t make much sense. If you pulled with 50 lbs of force and you feel that isn’t going to work anymore how can 10-20 lbs of force stretch it more.

Neither can I fathom this. If you stretch the purportedly “correct” way — gripping the shaft, that is, rather than the head — I can’t imagine that it is less safe than hanging. However, if you are gripping the shaft, I also cannot imagine how you can pull with 50 lbs of force: my shaft skin, at least, just cannot be gripped well enough, unless I pulled from the very base (as Blop apparently does for lig gains, which makes sense; a hanger attached to the very base would also enable one to hang huge amounts of weight).

“Dorsal Nerve Area”, yeah Para-Goomba, that is what I was looking for. A bunch of nerves just below the head on the top of your penis, right?

You seem to have a Dr.Jekyll and Mr.Hyde thing going. A few posts ago you seemed to be beckoning others to explain why it was bad to put pressure near the head, which is when I jumped in. But just now someone more knowledgeable came along — you again! — and has answered your call, lol.

Well, Blop, I wasn’t actually meaning to make that connection — poor communication on my part.

My understanding is that you don’t want to put pressure in the middle of the shaft right below the glans because of the dorsal nerve. That is, if you are gripping the shaft hard, you want to avoid that bit of it.

The warning against yanking on the glans itself, though, has something to do with the weak connective tissue between the glans and the shaft, if I recall correctly. Apparently it’s actually possible to rip that tissue apart and thereby cause major, major problems — if, again, my memory serves correctly :) .

This post is makeing me think twice about stretching now.

Stretching is a fabulous exercise that tons of guys have made great gains off of, Soon. I was just suggesting that you might want to grip the shaft rather than the head — and avoid putting too much of your hand pressure on the area right behind the head on the “top” of the shaft, for long-term penile health. But frankly, I haven’t really heard of anyone getting badly injured by stretches, even when they are done “improperly,” so I wouldn’t worry too much…

Soon, why don’t you start a new thread asking guys about the safety of pulling on the glans when stretching? I just did a search but had trouble finding detailed information on the topic. I’m sure someone could help bring some light to the subject, but the question might get lost in this thread…

Here is a good link Hey Bib, a few quick questions to a answer to this question you guys have from BIB, and he believes you can get much more tension/stretch with a hanger then just using your hands alone. And for the record I guess I was manual stretching wrong for about 6 months because I would grip the glans every time for every different manual stretch so I could pull at maximum force or close to it, this has resulted in a beaten up glans/head many times with bruises but every time I jelqed a little for a day or two and forced blood up the shaft repeatedly into the head the next day or two after sleeping the head would regenerate itself and be like new again. I have gotten 2 inches from just manual stretching by gripping the head and using most of the various manual stretchs.

I’ve actually come to the point where manual stretching alone even with gripping by the head like I do, just won’t give me anymore gains that way. I have tried many many different ways of manual stretching and could not break a little plateau I had until now when I started hanging with the Wench, so of course I believe hanging to be better then manual stretching for length, but it takes a lot of paitence, time, energy, balls, etc, etc.

Love, compared to manual stretching how much time and weight you spend hanging?

Gaaahh - I let the skin bunch up beneath the head, so in effect I am exerting force on the glans when I stretch!

I think this picture might show what happens if you damage the connection of shaft and glans.
