Keep it engorged and never let it turtle VS Taking days off for recovery

Hey guys,

When I got started again with PE I had a different approach than earlier. In the past I definitely overtrained, but this time around I focused on maintaining a very healthy cock and taking whatever gains may come in a steady manner.

I did PE every other day or less.

The result? It seemed like my member still had good expansion even though I took a few days off between sessions. I was happy to see that I experienced gains with minimal efforts.

After a few months of PE I had a steady routine where I pumped/jelqed EOD. I felt my gains stopping up so I decided to add one 10-15 minute set on my off days to keep it from retracting and to cement pumping/jelqing gains.

It seemed to work good in the beginning.

The last days though, my cock does not seem as full or healthy as I like it to be. I have not measured, but it may actually have slightly shrinked or said differently, become slightly overtrained.

I have recently added some stretching to my routine and just got back working full-time so there is probably a connection. I am however taking a few days off to recover completely before I get back to PE.

I just wanted to ask what your guys take on this is.

Do you take complete days off? How often?

Or do you never let it turtle?;)

I think my new routine will be 5 days off with EOD not as intense as my main sessions. 2 days off following that.

Thanks guys!

I got good results from 5 days on, then 2 days off.

It is like a weight training program, it is totally an independent thing.

Two people could follow the same jelqing protocol and get vastly different results.

Do not follow any one person’s routine. While there are exercises that you *should* use, the intensity and frequency should be built totally
around your PI’s.

06/21/07 NBP = 7.75(tape) FSL = 7.875 EG = 5.00 Volume= 15.42

09/13/07 NBP = 8.375 FSL = 8.75 EG = 5.38 Volume = 19.29 (+25%)

12/26/07 NBP = 8.625 FSL = 8.75 EG = 5.50 Volume = 20.82 (+35%)

Yes I agree. It is individual I do PE no more than three days per week. If for any reason my erections decrease in size I may take off a week from PE. New work schedule and other indirect stresses may play a role in EQ as well.
Stress
Weight loss from illness
Weight gain from over indulging
Hunger
Illness

Hydration plays a role in pecker health. When you are dehydrated all available fluids are shunted to important internal organs. Such as the brain, heart lungs, kidneys to keep you alive as long as possible. So drink at least 10 glasses of water per day. Don’t wait tell your thirsty to drink water.

Speak softly carry a big dick, I'm mean stick!

I believe the “never let it turtle”-theory is just a mind game.

Start: 6.3 BPEL x 4.5 MSEG & 4.5 BSEG

Now: 7.7 x 4.7 x 5.5 BSEG

Goal: 8 x 6

If you never let it turtle can it do anything but grow? And if it digresses due to over work, is that any reason to do anything but lighten up on the heavy stuff until your unit catches up?, never the less never letting it turtle?

I think this is an excellent thread to allow theories to be testified to on both fronts. I personally would like to know of those that have given good discipline to each side to state their conclusions.

Frankly: I think allowing dead time is anti progressive but I’m open to factual argument

09-2003 BPEL:6.0x5.5

11-2004 BPEL:8.25x6.25 . . 9+ by Spring is the goal AIR CLAMP

Now BPEL:8 5/8 x 6 5/8 PE Weights

Ok.

Please define dead time.

This is the thing, there will never, EVER be ONE approach that works for everyone.

Just as some folks have an individualized recovery period as it applies to weight lifting et al, the same must apply to PE.

Some folks can be very intense and very frequent in their approach, yet have continual gains.

Who is to say that that would NOT have better results by adding some recovery time?

Who is to say that those, including me, who HAVE taken breaks and who still have great gains, would not have better gains by NOT
taking breaks.

It is a futile argument.

I will say that if you pump every day and do 500 jelqs and hang for 5 hours everyday and never take any time off, simply preventing turtling will not necessarily translate into growth.

Some need a break.

Some don’t.

Some can make progress by using lower intensity.

Some make GREAT gains by using a LOT of intensity.

When we have crappy EQ, what do we do??

Take time off.

There is no reason to believe that an extended recovery will not allow the body to catch-up from an overly intense, overly done routine.

One can turtle from to much PE. It is individual you have to pay close attention to your dicks signals. “I’m in pain quit pulling on me for a few days”

I agree…I do PE for 3 years now and I see one pattern in my PE….after some time of heavy PE my penis turtles. Now it is happening to me after 2 months of pumping. Last time it happened I took 4 weeks break and after that my penis was around 0.7cm longer. Do not ask me how it works. I am sure it is individual-find you own way and stick to it.

Don’t forget that the dick compares poorly to a skeletal muscle. Neither does pe to weight lifting.

Good results are obtained in medical application by continuous, rather low stress (when it comes to ligament stretching, which compares well to tunica and dick ligs, which are the limiting factor in pe, as most would probably agree.

We would agree that some folks cannot tolerate the same intensity of others, yes?

Then what is the limiting factor there??

Individual recoverability.

Recoverability is an underlying issue in ANY progressive systematic approach whether it is pe or weight lifting.

You just cannot state that low continual stress is the BEST route for everyone in a practical setting.

The objective of this post was not to find out the “correct” method, which probably does not exist.

I merely wanted to find out what most people have had success with and their thoughts on the subject.

I have had more than a day off now and my penis feels fuller again.

It’s one on, one off for me.

I take two days off once every two weeks or so, and 3 days off once a month or so.

I consider taking days off to be an active part of PE. By actively not doing a routine, I am making my penis bigger.

That’s my 2 cents.

Sept. 4, '07: BPEL 6.875 inches, EG widest 5.25

Goal: Double digits

“Don’t forget that the dick compares poorly to a skeletal muscle. Neither does pe to weight lifting.

Does the brain not compare poorly to skeletal muscle as well?

Should I study every day for hours untill I can’t see straight and never rest my mind?

Constantly working ANY part of your body without giving it time to rest and recover is a bad idea.

Oh and I like to go four or five days on and two to four days off:)
