Jelq or not to Jelg

I started out doing the newbie routine. I haven’t been very consistent because I have tendinitis in my forearms and jelqing aggregates it. I have been impressed with the improvements in erect firmness and the new veins I’m getting. I started to pump also. It looks like I will have to lay off the jelqing for awhile.

It seems that jelqing is included in just about every routine. I’m wondering if there is a routine that is worthwhile that doesn’t require jelqing?

I don´t think there would be a substitute for jelqing.

Pumping works best if you incorporate jelqing in between your pump sets. You don’t have to use strenuous jelqing for this. Just light jelqing to restore blood flow and re-oxygenate the tissues. Let the pump do the work. So you can pump for 10 minutes and then do 3-5 minutes of light jelqing and then pump for 10 minutes followed be jelqing again and so forth. The light jelqing hopefully won’t be enough to flare up your tendinitis.

Yeah, jelqing’s pretty important. I know some people have used O-bends (or some variant) as a substitute for jelqing. Bends won’t hit length as well, though.

Have you considered a Power Jelq device?

Answer to your jelqing issue do a one hand jelq with the un affected hand. Tendonitis huh!

Glucosamine 500mg under 150 lbs, 1000mg over 150 lbs.
Glutamine 5 grams or more per day 9$ at Wal-Mart.
Calcium.
Magnesium.

Go to the doctor to get checked for thyroid. Sometimes it is thyroid related.

Maybe he could try the C Grip? It doesn’t take as much strength from either arm. I’ve been experimenting also with using the bathroom counter as a Jelq aid. Basically, I place my semi-erect member on top of a towel on the couter, then I make a fist and place it facing downward (like punching the counter) on top of my penis. Then lean into it, and I get a good squeeze. While holding the squeeze, I move my fist around massaging the penis while restricting the bloodflow. I can also hold the fist in place and using my hips move the penis in and out. OK, so it isn’t really Jelqing, but I think the pressure and massage might have some benefit.

10inchAdvantage at MOS has made a cheap jelqing device. It’s made from items you can get at Home Depot. If he hasn’t posted here at Thunders I would take a look into it. Jelqing is to the dick what squats are to the legs. Nothing else works the penis the same way. The jelqing device would be easier on your wrists as well.

I don’t Jelq and I have a routine…It is not a mandatory exercise to gain.

Thanks a lot for all the ideas. I will start taking the Glucosamine. I will check the thyroid idea. Never heard that before.

I did experiment with seeing how much pressure to put into the jelq. I used to really cranking on it. It seems there isn’t a hell of a difference between the pressure build up when done lightly as there is when I do it really hard. So maybe if I lighten up a bit it will still be beneficial. What do you think? I also tried the on the counter method. It seemed to relieve the pressure on the forearms. Do you think using a power jelqer would work better? I’ve read mixed reviews about those things.
