I know, that was my point. But the anecdotal evidence in favor of using an ADS after more intense stretching regimens will never be super convincing because they are always used with more intense stretching too. You can’t say that the results were greater or less with any certainty due to the ADS.

I just went to my local ACE Hardware to get the heat shrink tubing and they only had 6” sections, so I had to order some off amazon. But the stuff I found comes in a 10 foot length, so I won’t have to cut the lead coil down at all, the finished product, therefore, should still weigh around one pound. Or two pounds if I use them both. But I think one pound should be plenty for an ADS at the moment.

Roots

I’ve been trying to remember. I’ve been to many expos. Many fitness related and many not. I love comic cons for the costumes lol. I was 15 or 16 at the time so around 2001-2003. It’ll come to me

Thanks bh. I didn’t think you did. I make sure not to be oversensitive when it comes to online forums. TO often people get there panties in a bunch when someone has an opposing thought or opinion. I welcome it. That is how we learn and PE will grow.

It’s just when you look back at what Joe Weider and Arnold, and pretty much everyone else, said back then about the process of muscle growth you see the misconception begin. And that same rationale is still the common belief among lifters who aren’t interested in the science or educated in muscle physiology. And I mean specifically what causes the hypertrophy response in response to training stimuli, not other external stimuli. The effect of hormones has been known since the 1930’s to one extent or another, after they first synthesized testosterone. Then I would say hormones hit the international stage in the 1950’s when Russia dominated the Olympics with a bunch of juiced up athletes.

What is your training history? Do you still lift?

Been lifting since I was 12-13 years old. Started with push up lol because my dad said he would get me a weight set if I could do 100 push up without stopping.

I’ve basically grown with it as it has grown over the last 15 years. Started with basic isolation exercises.. You know chest and back on monday, tuesday..

Have had my injuries from over doing it at times and that only helped educate me. My favorite was 6 months I tried out olympic style lifting. Loved working on powerful explosive compound movements. Then I went to nursing school and just had time to hit the gym between classes on campus.

Now I do a lot of Pilates b.c I have my own studio. Just getting back into lifting at the gym. I’m just all about longevity now. Keeping my body very healthy through proper movement with focus on strength and flexibility. Of
Course when I was younger I didn’t think twice about flexibility and led to issues

Didn’t you say you are only in your late twenties?

That has been my experience with lifting, I competed bodybuilding a couple times, but I much prefer powerlifting. Olympic lifting is badass, and those guys are the best pound for pound athletes on the planet. Piros Dimas (probably spelled wrong) from Greece could jump through the roof.

Haha! Ya he is a physical specimen. Another one is Hossein Rezazadeh from Iran. He is fat and average height but he is so damn explosive that he can dunk a basketball.

Oh and Shane Hammon is an American Olympic weightlifter and former powerlifter who is 380 pounds at 5’9”, and he can do a standing backflip and standing, two-handed dunk a basketball. These guys have so much power that it’s incredible, almost unbelievable.

Guys, this is a good and serious thread. Can we get back on topic before I have to start splitting posts off into a new thread? It’s best if all threads stay loosely on topic, although ones of ‘no value’ can wander quite a bit :) Thanks :)

firegoat is fully RETIRED from Thundersplace.

All injuries happen from "too much", or "too much, too soon" or "doing the exercise incorrectly".

Heat makes the difference between gaining quickly or slowly for some guys, or between gaining slowly instead of not at all for others. The ideal penis size is 7.6" BPEL x 5.6" Mid Girth. Basics.... firegoat roll How to use the Search button for best results

Ok ok. :)

Hanging works.

Extenders work.

It wouldn’t make sense if there weren’t any synergy between the two. Even if there isn’t, it’s still adding extra work to your routine. Provided you don’t hurt yourself, whether any of the theories are true or not, you should gain more using both.

In general I agree, but I think there are some situations where this is not the case.

If you are hanging a ton of weight, your connective tissues will be very strong and a typical extender is simply going to function as an ADS.

If you have more privacy time and can choose between doing more hanging sets or adding an extender to fill the time, generally the hanging will be more productive.

If you are vac hanging you should be trying to maximize time as much as possible and switching to an extender will get in the way of that goal to an extent. That is, just wearing the vac hanger for as long as possible would be more efficient.

I agree with roots on this. If we had unlimited time we could shotgun everything. However, because time is finite I work on what I think is most effective.

I did use a passive ADS and I didn’t care for it and I really couldn’t imagine it doing anything.

I have also used an ADS with 2-3 pounds on it but in my situation it caused a problem with hanging. I think my lack of technique with this ADS created a skin tear which made hanging a disaster.

Once that happened I just had to evaluate what was working with me and drop all the extra stuff. I have grown since that decision and that’s all that matters to me.
