It seems that mostly the less is more guys are the ones posting in this thread, myself included. Titleist is a veteran and is not afraid to chime in, as he knows that discussion is the whole point of this entire forum.

Sparkyx, I think you me and have the EXACT same problem when it comes to PE. With all the effort, thought and dedication that we’ve put into PE, we both deserve 8 x 6’s right now. We’re so used to doing a lot of PE - we still can’t convince our brains that the “less is more” route is all that we need. And I’m with you when you say that too much edging or jerking off sets you back. It always happens…I’ll do some “less is more” PE routine for a week or two, get some positive PIs and better EQ. Everything seems like it’s on the up and up; gains should be just around the corner. But then, with the increased horniness, I feel the need to masturbate and edge more - it’s almost hynotic. And then, when I cave in, it sets me back to square one again.

Now I know what everyone is thinking: Why can’t you have more control and just not edge or jerk off as much? Well, I find that a certain amount of edging and masturbation is needed in order to keep my libido up. I believe that being in a “constant state of horniness” is key for gains - it helps keep you plump during the day and promotes nocturnal erections at nighttime. But if I cut out edging or masturbation altogether, my libido drops diminishes significantly. What is hard to find is that fine line between too much edging/masturbation, and not enough.

When I am in the growth zone, I also get so friggin horny its like I’m 14 again! Which then puts me in grave danger of “overdoing”…EVERYTHING!

Really for me, the key is completely stay away from porn or even light porn. If I am very horny and I even see some hot avatars, it makes me start looking at some of the threads like Lukas or Patabrava…which then leads to more and soon I’ve friggin ruined my routine. Don’t worry about your libido dropping, you will have tons of nite wood which will encourage gains and cement what you have. If you are like me, you just have to do your routine (without porn) then get busy with your life until its time for your routine again…you will get gains!

I find that if I get my routine right I have a pretty good SRR most of the day (super relaxation response) which translates into a pretty large flaccid. THEN its difficult not to do more! But “more” will cause contraction.

If you don’t become super strict with your routine you will probably be like me and not get any gains. When I get very strict, I start to gain again, but really any slippage at all brings it to a halt. Sex with my wife doesn’t seem to have that effect…thank God.

One way I have found to help with not over doing it is to get it where I want in terms of EQ, night wood, etc., and then leave it alone until that diminishes. I tell myself, that’s perfect, I am doing it perfectly, doing more or again will not be perfect anymore. I let the positives start to diminish, then go again. I worked so hard at finding the right routine to get it “there”, why fuck it up? I just filled the glass up completely full one drop at a time, one more drop will make it spill.

Edging and masturbation. For me I don’t know if the horniness is the chicken or the egg. Masturbation drives it up, or it is up, so I want to masturbate? So when I manage to not masturbate so much I don’t know if it is because I am simply am not as horny, or if it is because I am not masturbating so much.

My daytime erections and number of erections do go down when I don’t masturbate as much. But the flip side is the general health of my penis seems to go up, way up. The veins become more prominent, and the girth of erections really goes up. So while I don’t have as many erections, the ones I do have are fantastic. To me this says that it is good for my penis. And this is while I am actively doing workouts, not during breaks. If you don’t masturbate for a few days, and feel like your libido is down, and think it is not good for your penis, take a look at the veins on your morning wood, you might see that even though you are not walking around with a woody all the time, your penis still is enjoying the break.

If not masturbating so much actually does reduce my libido, then great! I have plenty to spare. (I did 9 times in 24 hours a few months before starting PE. That’s at over 40 years old.) I am concentrating on getting a bigger penis right now, not trying to set personal records for whacking off.

What I am saying is that I am not convinced that having a lower libido hurts PE, as long as you are still over some sort of testosterone producing threshold. For me at least, a couple times per week seems to keep me above this threshold, and doesn’t hinder PE so much.

Another way of doing it is to not masturbate on the days you work out. Not only does this help with EQ, but it encourages you to take days off a couple times per week!

Don’t get me wrong, I don’t always follow my personal guidelines. It’s impossible for me. I simply try my best to keep it down to a couple times per week, and not to do it on work out days.

I was going to post this right now but you pretty much said everything I was going to say. Anyways, for 2 days I was doing like 25 jelqs in the am and my woods were insane! I stayed plump after my workout, even thought the workout was like 1-2 minutes not even. Working out for 1 min seems like absolute SHIT to me but i said what the hell and did it anyways. I was staying so horny that i couldn’t help but masturbate and edge. I don’t know if this affected gains or anything but I haven’t gained in the past few months. I tried something new the other day because I have been reading over at Matters of Size forums. I figured I would bump it up to 300 jelqs and just go super light and fast, like I did when i first started doing PE and saw gains within the first 3 workouts.

Well the first day, I did 290 jelqs and after my session I stayed really plump and felt worked but felt great! I believe this was due to the fast rep tempo as well as the low intensity of the jelqs. I did not have one red dot, which i usually get from jelqing with a firm grip and going slow. The next day I did this same routine, but i really wanted to try stretching because I wanted to follow DLD’s phase one routine. I did the stretching and felt like i pulled too hard because I got sore and some retraction. HOWEVER, on the MoS board, it seems like all the big gainers get sore, and they all just work through the soreness.

I woke up this morning and I didn’t feel sore really anymore so I figured I would jelq. Well I did my routine and measured and I honestly think I maybe lost a millimeter. Either that or I didn’t gain shit. I really don’t know what direction to go, but going super low on the workouts really doesn’t really make sense that it will be effective. Yes I get better erections i think, but I truly believe that you need to put the work in if you want it to grow. How could so many people over there be lying about their gains from working through the soreness. By the way, the soreness is NOT pain, just wanted to clear that up. I need help dudes, I just want to freaking gain already.

I’m with you on this. As long as we stay above a certain threshold of testosterone, I think it’s fine.

I really like the idea of only masturbating/edging on rest days. I’m definitely going to incorporate this into my routine.

Thanks budz. I don’t know if I agree when you say that you should work through the soreness. Remember, proper PE should produce positive PIs. If you aren’t getting harder erections, then you should reconsider your workload. Maybe for you, more is more. All I know is that for me, it’s not.

All i know is that today, just as an update, that I have felt “worked” all day with a slight soreness, NOT PAIN. I have been hanging MUCH fuller, and popping random woods all day however i still do feel like my cock is worked pretty well. I dont know if I should continue on with this routine and stretch tonight, or take a break. Blah

I take that back, its not hanging MUCH fuller. I dont know why I even said that. I just took a flacid stretched measurement and it was down 1/16 of an inch. And I have only popped 2 chubbies, they werent even hardons. I dont know why I said that.

I’m trying to masturbate 3 times a week only and it’s f’ing hard.

I’m working out a lot,doing PE,eating very healthy and in a loving relationship and recently it’s as if my sex drive has gone on turbo drive. This means if I’m not having sex I’m usually tempted to masturbate and of course you don’t want to do this too much because you don’t want it interfering with your PE routines and healing process so it’s a catch 22.

The bottom line is SELF CONTROL.

I guess I need more of it,after all I’m 34yrs old so should be able to control the urge to ‘whack off’ 7-8 times a week but it’s easier said than done. :(
