I'm bigger but I don't notice

Why is it that the ruler says I’m bigger, but when I look down it looks the same. My bone pressed has definately increased, but it looks the same, has anyone noticed this? Is it because I see it everyday that I do not notice the change?

That’s it exactly. You see it every day, so you cannot see the gradual changes. You need to display it to someone that hasn’t seen it in a while. Like an old girlfriend. Or, your grandmother. :)

It might also feel the same hanging there. I’ve noticed a difference in mine by handling it a bit and looking at it but then again I’ve made some large gains. Sometimes it feels as if it has gotten bigger but doesn’t measure any bigger, which is confuses me to no end.

This is why I’m such a big advocate of taking progress pics. Most especially “before” pics.

It is very hard to appreciate your progress with nothing but a memory of a number to go on. When you see visual evidence of your gains it can be one of the greatest motivational tools at your disposal.

It might seem like it hasn’t got any longer because it’s getting fatter. And it might seem like it’s getting thinner if it gets longer without getting fatter. It also might seem to be getting smaller because your hands are getting bigger from all the exercises.

I like to use things around the house to compare to. Like toilet paper rolls, my tube from my pump, my wife’s mouth. Screw that ruler, what a pain that thing is!
