it looks like over 35% of guys were less than 4.5 inches erect girth.

In this survey, 30% of guys reported a maximum girth of 4.7 inches or less: http://www.size … com/result.html but it is a self-reported study and probably the results should be adjusted downward a bit to account for exaggeration.

Yeah. No way do 1 in 39 guys have 6 inches girth. Show me a study that implies this madness. :)

1 in 40 is about right for a 6 inch girth. Actually, I would guess a little more. 1 in 40 is only 2.5 %.

Anyway, this topic has been beaten to death. There is no “correct size”.

You have to account for the fact that the bigger guys are far more likely to take part in the studies than the smaller guys. A well hung guy with big length and girth hears that there is a study taking place and is more than happy to walk in and take part. A small guy with a short thin one hears this and thinks, “I wouldn’t do that if they paid me!”. Therefore the result will be significantly inflated.

I highly doubt one in forty have 6” girth or more.

I’ve been a long time lurker, but I thought I would weigh in on this subject because this topic came up in conversation last night with my girlfriend of 3 months. Who knows why a guy feels the need to ask about a girl’s past sexual experience because 99% of the time it’s not going to be a good conversation, but I happened to ask her what was the biggest that she’s had. Surprisingly she honestly said me, at 7.25” BPEL and 5.6”EG, and she’s been with 8 guys. She said I was both the longest and thickest which amazed me because I’d assumed she’d had a porn sized cock before (something it seems like every guy assumes). But no, I was definitively the biggest, which leads me to believe that the statistics that we hear about 5.5-6” length that we assume to ourselves is an underestimate to make us feel better might actually be accurate and true. Same with the stat curves for how common certain sizes are.

Normally I’d be weary of a girl’s answer to this type of question, but she’s always been brutally honest, so take my anecdotal evidence as you will. I’m still going to work my way up to the coveted 8x6.

Really not surprising at all since you are at, or above the 90% percentile for both length and girth in just about all of the surveys and studies that I would consider reliable.

Did you ask her if she thought size made a difference to her sexual satisfaction? Of course, that is a question you might not get a straight answer to, or you may or may not like the answer if you did.

Wasn’t the lifestyles survey done during a spring break? If so then all this data will be incredibly inflated. It’s certainly not a random sample by any means. It’s students that love to party. Most of them will be confident, and are probably more likely to have an over average size as appose to an under average size.

Then we have the fact that the below average guys(and almost all guys with a tiny penis) steer clear of volunteering, while the above average guys, especially the guys who are very well hung are more than happy to take part, and in some cases will probably go out of there way to do so. If the small guys did take part, then suddenly a guy with 6” girth goes from 1 in 40 to 1 in 70. Then take away a great deal of the big guys by the fact that there taking part was not random selection because they thought to themselves, “Hey I’ve a got a big one, I’m in! hehe”(they selected themselves because they are well hung and therefore a group of random men become a group of men that are confident about showing their penises). That may well bring that 1 in 70 number to 1 in 140.

All these factors lead to results that are incredibly biased and therefore skewed. It’s impossible to know how much the results were affected, but I think you could safely take 0.3” off the sizes to get the real results(very rough estimate I know).

Yes, the LifeStyles condom survey was done in Cancun during spring break time. Guys were approached at a bar by a couple of (presumably attractive) nurses and asked to participate over about a three day period.

Most of them, no doubt, were college-aged guys on spring break. I think the guys were approached in groups, so there might have been some peer pressure to go ahead and join in.

The survey people (2 nurses and a doctor) had a big tent outside the night club that was partitioned off with screens. Guys went behind a screen, were given some pornographic material, and announced when they were ready to be measured whereupon the doctor and a nurse measured them and recorded the data.

The amazing thing is that of the 401 guys who agreed to participate, 100 could not achieve an erection, or so they claimed. It seems quite possible that the guys who were embarrassed to show themselves to a nurse, or felt they would come up short might have used this excuse to opt out. But it is also possible that a lot of alcohol intake could have skewed the results in the other direction.

That’s why it’s important to look at studies where the population being studied isn’t self-selected.

I don’t know if somebody has brought up this link before but it’s a website that allows you to virtually compare your Johnson against other people. More interestingly you can compare your penis against the women’s conception of an ‘ideal size’ based on three different surveys mentioned on Thunders before. Hey, you can even compare your member against John Holmes, Ron Jeremy e.t.c. However I would advise not too as it’s quite demoralising.

I am not sure how they arrive at their size on that site but for a couple of those pornstars it is grossly overstated. Preston’s must be close at approximately 8x6 but the fact remains that an extra 1” in length and an extra .5” in girth is a huge difference in size and volume. Lex Steele is impressive because of his rock hard wood given his impressive size. Mandingo had problems with solid erections in his early career (actually so did Lex) but he can pretty much rival Lex for rock solid boners and he has much more volume. But some girthy guys like Diesel, Shorty Mac and Jack Napier have spongy erections which explains why the women they perform with can usually easily handle the 7” plus girth they are packing. Ramon falls into that category also. Many of these guys obviously pump before their scene.

And don’t get me started on John Holmes. He performed at 50-70% erections his whole career. The sight of some of these guys dropping their drawers may make most women’s jaw drop but I wonder what they think when the penis that is about to penetrate them never gets rock hard.

I just meant that my experiences with women suggest that a 6+” girth is very uncommon (as I said, I’d guess 1 in 25 at most from the reactions I get :) ).

I asked her what her ideal penis size was and if it made much of a difference. She said she doesn’t know what the best penis size would be, but she’s enjoyed mine the most so far. So that’s a good sign. She did say that she really likes length and actually cared more about that than girth, since she’s been with guys who had thick penises but were short and she didn’t like it at all. She also really likes giving blow jobs, so she likes length so she has more to work with. She’s an extremely petite girl (Russian 98lb 5’ girl) and has no problem taking all of me in every position except for doggy style (which takes some work). Whereas my previous girlfriend was bigger than her and I would bottom out on her if I wasn’t careful.
