"Icing" down after workouts

Hello all. I am interested in knowing if anyone here has had success with icing down after their workouts to cement gains. There was a post dealing with this subject, but no clear responses to me or the information seems outdated:

Icing down while stretched

The theory was something along the lines of using heat to soften and expand the tissues, then immediately ice to solidify them in that expanded state. Has anyone tried this?

I discovered that thread a few months ago and have incorporated ice into my routine ever since. I can’t say that it has improved my gains though. I was gaining beforehand and have since. I do suggest it though. After the initial shock is over, it is really quite soothing. I also find that it reduces inflammation and soreness in the soft tissues, which in of itself is a good thing.

I did use Ice after PE…NO EFFECT on me…but again-I could be wrong ;) each of us is different…for me it was a crap…
