I think I've gotten injury-phobia =(

I used to be calm when it came to the risks and the fear of hurting myself, but i’ve recently taken about a month and a half off, and now i can’t seem to get started up again. I just keep picturing myself ripping the entire thing off, og maybe bursting the entire head during a jelq session.

I think it’s because i keep having these mental images… Kinda feel like a crazy person here, seeing as i haven’t had any really serious injuries. Maybe I feel like I’m overdue for one? =)

Anyone else have this problem, or any advise for me?

Ooohh… obsessive negative thoughts. Yikes.

I have injury-phobia-phobia, I’m scared of being scared of injury. During your break, how much PE related reading did you do? Were you keeping up with threads here? If so, maybe you need a mental break, just to stop thinking about it. I mean no reading, no worrying, no PE for a bit.

How about a hobby… something particularly detail intensive to give your mind something else to worry about for a while. Something like balsa-wood airplane building, worry about your glue drying on your wings or something. I don’t know, just spitballing here.

You could try some negative reinforcement. Put a loose rubber band around your ballsack, and every time you catch yourself with a negative thought about PE…. THWAPP! :shrug: You could go less hardcore and put it around your wrist. Same concept.

This will sound psychobabble-ish but you could try consciously reprogramming your negative thoughts into positive ones. When you find yourself actually picturing yourself “ripping the entire thing off” stop and repeat some sort of key phrase, something like “No, that’s NOT true”, then specifically picture yourself doing the opposite: stretching gently and imagine your penis responding positively, with a gentle healthy throb of fresh blood, try to imagine the cellular healing and visualize the ligs gently relaxing and letting out more length. Whatever, bottom line, replace the negative image of holding your stump in your hand with one of your huge monster responding to PE with health, vigor, and injury-free gains. Hold that positive image, three deep breaths, relax and let it go, immediately move on to something else. A good hearty laugh, even a forced one, will help shift your mind to new gears. That’s called ‘banishing with laughter’ and it works to help break up thought patterns.

(Ahhh… I see now that I’ve been listening to that damn self-hypnosis CD far too much. ;) )

I’m like you Eroset, but am less prone to fear of ripping my dick off after hanging and pulling on my dick for a period of time as hard as I can. What gets me past the fear of ripping my dick off is the fact that when your hanging or manual stretching with lots of intensity.

I believe personally the ONLY time you would risk injuring and ripping your dick off is if you DON’T let go of your penis while manual stretching or release the weight tension while hanging IMMEDIATLY as soon as you feel anything like a sharp pain developing somewhere around your penis. I have many times encountered this feeling but then I completely release all tension and rest the dick for a couple mintues, then do another quick test to see if my dick can handle the tension again, ususalyl it allows me to keep hanging or manual stretching but sometimes the sharp pain comes right back as soon as the dick stretchs in certain areas at the base of my penis, so then I would have to take 1-3 days off from PE and let my dick completelty heal (I also tend to notice gains after getting to the brink of injury like this and then resting for a day or two :P), then its back to manual stretching and hanging again. I believe this positive mentality has been part of the reason why I have made crazy fast length gains so far. That and a lot of other things I’ve thought about, which I’ll write about here one day, probaly at the end of the year about when I began PE

sitrusen, maybe try using my mentality above, but I wouldn’t really recommend it to you if you don’t feel confident about what I say because that’s a good way to hurt yourself. Good luck in gains.

In case there is any confusion, I’m not prone to fear of ripping my dick off, I was using sitrusen’s words. I need to be far more concerned with losing my mind.

Eroset, my man, you have not only gone off the deep end, you are on course to see how deep it actually is. :D I knew there was a reason we got along so well. :leftie: This break is killing me as well. And it’s only been two days! My wife flipped last night when I tried jelqing the cucumber I was cutting for our salads. :shrug:
